MEMO R1 – The Disaster at the Gladden Fields
After a 7 year battle before the Black Gate, Isildur rides home with his army over the Gladden Fields. But Orcs, in the former service of Sauron, attack seeking vengeance. Disaster strikes as the sun goes down and more Orcs arrive…
About this creation
Hey!

Contest – MEMO 2014
Round - One
Opponent – Everyone!!

Wow… I worked non-stop on this build. It’s my favorite yet, but, boy!, was it a ton of work.

I really hope I can sneak into the contest! Sorry it’s a day late, judges, I had a busy week unpacking from a month away from home. : I had to build another contest entry. And that was hectic too! Thanks a lot guys for hosting the contest and judging!

On to the build… :P

An overall shot of the battle

Isildur yelling orders to his men

A Ranger on his horse

A solider blocking the ax strike of an Orc

A nicely focused pic of the Ranger

An elderly Ranger battling an Orc

A final stand

The overall build, ‘fig-less. So the reason I like this build so much is the sheer size (For me this is huge cuz I don’t have the parts for much bigger) and the amount of detail that I was able to put into it

The path

My dad suggested to break up the water with this little rock

The infamous brown grass part, seen in almost all my builds. :D LOVE this part!

I LOVE this water and the bank! That’s the reason it’s my favorite build!!

The river

A parting shot of Invisible Isildur leaping into the water

Thanks for checking this build out!! Comments, likes and critique are all appreciated! Good luck, to the other competitors!

Quoting Halhi 141 What's funny is that this is pretty much Nathan's entry on a smaller scale. That's both a good thing and a bad thing. On one hand, Nathan's entry was extremely original in style and aesthetics and that means that yours is too. On the other hand, I honestly liked his entry better. It's a good idea to try to make something that you can be fairly sure that nobody else will make (rivers are always done) so that you can't be compared to other builders. For instance, if you were to make large scale figures of all the characters in the Fellowship...I've never seen that done before, probably never will, so seeing something like that would stand out. Sure Nathan's entry really stood out, but seeing pretty much the same sort of aesthetic again didn't stand out as much. All that said, this is a very nice entry, good luck.
Wow man! Long comment for sure... :P Thanks!! I really appreciate you checking this out and typing a REALLY long comment on it! Great thought to make something unique. I really have wanted to make this scene soooo I just made it AFTER seeing the river design that he used on his newest LOM build. Yea. Olive cheese is easy to go overkill with. XD Soo yea. Thanks man! I'll bear that stuff in mind. :)

Nice work Graeme! The details in it are stunning, and the trees and rooks are fabulous! Definitely one of your best, if not THE best of your builds! Stellar MOC, this will definitely get you into the next round! :D (BTW your links aren't working, and the first round ends the 24th, not the 20th)
