Haldir of Lórien and his warrior elves - for the Battle of the Hornburg
About this creation
These minifigs will be the elves for my interpretation of Peter Jackson's Helm’s Deep Battle (which in turn is based on J. R. R. Tolkien's Battle of the Hornburg).
Under the command of Haldir of Lórien, these fine elves will help protect the walls of Helm’s Deep from the orcs and goblins that will be storming the walls.
As anyone familiar with minifig customization will know, the armour and weapons are from Brickforge , which has some of the best custom Lego weapons around.
I am pondering whether or not these guys will be keeping their black capes, or I may make some silver-black capes out of some material my wife bought for me – time will tell. In addition, I am considering doubling their numbers depending on the final size of the walls.
The faces on these will be changed as I have a bunch of Harry Potter light flesh heads waiting for Brasso and decals. I chose light flesh in order to differentiate them from the rest of the army.
As far as the entire scene goes the approximate numbers will be:
Main Characters: 6
Size: TBA (several square meters?)
Estimated time of completion: Christmas ‘08
Time spent collecting components: 4-years (hardcore in the past 15-months)
Cost: Unknown so please don’t ask
Hope you enjoy, and I will keep everyone updated as the scene comes together. Please forgive the several ‘starred’ capes – they will be changed before the scene is done.
In the meantime go check out Thomas Muskovich’s Helm’s Deep - it is the best dang one I have seen – I can only hope I do as good a job as he has.
I have always wondered whos elves lurked on brickshelf, killing orcs by the dozen and lend aid to rohirrim. I have finally found their owner. And let me say those are the greatest elves ever. Im not kidding you have the best elves out there. If there was an award to be given you would have received it. Wow..Plz comment and rate my mocs.
Obviously The Helm's Deep scene is not built yet, but it is in the planning. There is a large scene that I am working on first to perfect some techniques - I don't want to build this scene and be disappointed in the results. Lee.
this is sweet

That's awesome!!! You must have a lot of cash to spend so much on lego!!! Anyway, the elves should have silver helms and bronze bows and Haldir should have a silver sword, but that's just my opinion. Overall, it's one of my favourite mocs.
I love the dark green figs and the bows. Makes me want to set up a LoTR war. Excellent!

I think this is a cool army . the skin colored faces are great but for me they dont seem like real lego and also with the colors why black i know the scene in the movie is dark but i always imagined elves as silver or green.
P.S I tried to do helms deep but it was pretty pitiful it is located on my moc pages.
