Excerpt from the journal of Vaun Cornet: “Today, we began our training. Ungoliant and I met Ofthálmos at the warehouse. He led us to the middle of the floor and stomped 5 times on one stone. There was a quiet whirring sound and a staircase appeared leading below the building. We descended. As soon as we reached the bottom, Ofthálmos unlocked a large door, lit a lantern, and motioned us to follow. ‘To begin,’ he started, ‘You must know that there are different types and hierarchies of monsters and enemies you will be facing in the conquest to rebuild the Black Lotus. I am about to show you the lowest on the hierarchy of monsters. This monster is only an example of the lowest monsters you will face.’
At that moment, we turned a corner and entered a hallway. Ofthálmos handed Ungoliant a lit torch and we proceeded. A stench suddenly began to grow as we grew closer to the first cell. Inside was a minotaur.
‘Here is the perfect example of the lowest hierarchy of monsters. It is a complete brute and only follows its instincts. These types of monsters include: minotuars, werewolves, zombies, skeletons for the most part, and other such creatures. These monsters are now almost unusable to the Black Lotus, as we will almost certainly not launch another full-scale attack like we just did. No matter, you must still know how to fight them, because many other enemies will use them as the bulk of their army. Use your logic to beat it. Make it angry and then kill it while it is reckless. They should be fairly easy for you to dispatch.’”
