After months of searching the royal army has finally discovered the outlaw's hideout, hidden up in the mountains. While mounting a full attack on the front, the army secretly sends a group of a two archers in behind the enemy, in the hope of catching them off their guard, and thus rescuing the prince.
Hey there, fellas!
Wow, what a build... I had an absolute blast making this. Probably my favorite build of all time. It did dose out quite a few challenges, though. In particular, with having so many elements going on at once; that could be seen from one side but not the other and such, you had to cover up ones without destroying other aspects of the build. In doing this I had to redo the rockwork in many places and alter ground texture. Even while having to deal with this, the rockwork was immensely fun to make, and it far surpassed my original expectations. :)
With the back of the build, the interior, I really wanted to continue giving it the mountainy feel but also have it so you could view the inside. To achieve this, I created a cut-away.
Honestly, I can't tell you how much I like this little addition. Especially with the slanted beam. :)
The antenna arrows are awesome. And an even better suprise when you get to see the interior built into the back for the hideout. But maybe a few too many pictures in there. Overall, though an amazing build. Great job!
I found it very difficult to decide which of your two builds is better. I came to the conclusion that in each ones proper place, neither is better than the other. however since I have to decide on one, I like your style and attention to detail better than Rangers more open style. You have my vote!
I'm extremely impressed with this build. The rockwork and the techniques are all high-quality- nothing stupendous, but perfectly fine. Also, the cutaway of the cave is a terrific blend of the natural rock and the structures. What really makes this for me, though, is the color combos. The different shades of brown and orange on the ground are stunning, and the regular blue of the soldiers goes perfectly with the dk red tree. To be honest, this is the first build I've seen that makes those new crownies look really good, not just cartoonish. Very nice job.
This is really cool. The detail on the rocks is pretty awesome, and I like the way you have the wall and the back landscape sort off just flow together. btw that red tree is pretty awesome.
Great MOC, awesome level of detail.
Wow Graham! You really went above and beyond on this. It's positively brilliant. The rock work is fantastic and I love how you blended the wall and rock together like a true Mason. I like how you made the cutaway plus interior look fantastic. I love that tree the two flanking archers are hiding behind. It's a truly epic battle scene!
I have to say this is really great work! The execution is top notch, the rocks, curve in the wall, and the excellent cutaway in the rear! All of these aspects come together to make an excellent MOC! Very well done, John
