beam trawler Mooie Meid Z296
Belgian beam trawler MOOIE MEID Z296 a change from the big ships and more colourful, after seeing Gert Stessels Soli Deo Gloria, that gave me the idea to build one similar, this is the 37m beam trawler built in the year 2000.the derricks(outriggers)are elec driven as is the beam trawls(nets havent arrived yet)so just the beams, these vessels are some of the nicest modern day fishing vessels around, automated conveyors etc, thanks to Gert Stessel and Konajra for getting some of the techniques for building this,

Quoting - Konajra - Nice trawler. Bigger scale than 1 to 40, I think. good choice for the colors. Blue is always a nice color for a ship. It is a pity you build it as waterline model and not with a full hull. That would have made even better.
thanks for your comment, its always nice to get interest from professional builders such as yourself,it started out as minifig scale but they look out of place on it,i rarely build complete hulls always waterline, hindsight maybe s detatchable hull would be an idea,

Your fiance must have a great deal of tollerance to allow you to have so much LEGO in your house :) But honestly, I think anyone can see that you are worthy to invest in LEGO so much because of your talent and immense patience to create such ships ... I really admire yuor work. 5/5

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 very impressive! realistic, may I ask what are the long side poles are for? a little narration could help.
i have never been good at typing lol,the booms(outrigger derricks)are used for towing the two beam trawls behind the boat, stop the gear going on top of each other,at sea they are swung out to tow gear, only lifted up for going back into harbour, these boats usually tow for an hour to two hours depending where fishing, hauling takes around 15 min, derricks lifted up 45 degrees ,codend is taken onboard to empty fish, beam trawl is only taken aboard at the end of the trip.

Quoting arwenromel hanna amazing as always jim...!!!!! been a long time and we are waiting for a great project of your amazing works..... I know that there is no person in the world has an enormous amount of MB bricks so I hope if there is a possibility to provide me with a number of pieces that can not be obtained here in New Zealand and also do not use or need in your projects giant. And I hope that you tell me that you are willing to sell or swap it with bricks may need ... and I owned a good amount of bricks ...If there was a surplus of bricks do not need, I would be very thankful Note ... the pieces required from Probuilder 3707 Air Force Warthog set ..... regards ARWEN

A really beautiful fishing vessel with an abundance of fine details. I like that the ship is built as it is on the water, it gives a clearer picture of the model in its true element. I am particularly impressed with the fine mast work, both the radar mast and the mast and booms for the trawl gear, but also the fine horizontally built decks. Excellent work!

I like how the big scale of this build means that so many if the shapes amd features are brick-built. The bows, complete with the built in number, are definitely the highlight but those two, long boom arms are an impressive bit of Lego engineering. Excellent and impressive work.
