About this creation
I made this model for my daughter. we are thinking about going back to this one and doing more potter models as we have had a lot of positive comments so far. we had planned a re-model of the hogwarts express we have most of the parts for that but we wanted to do the viaduct and enchanted car scene but are some parts missing at the moment, so we'll see what we come up with thanks for looking.
This started with my daughter getting some Harry Potter sets for Christmas.
After buying some 2x1 light grey bricks,
from lego shop@home we did a rebuild.
more sets and a few rebuilds later
this is what we finished with.
we buy from shop@home, ebay,
and bricklink. mostly.
Holy macamolie¡¡¡i think im gonna die!!coolest creation eva!!!!!ur daughter is a lucky one to have this all love the window at the great hall very amazing and inspiring build,Ur so lucky :):):):):):):):):):)
HOLY COW MAN!!!!!
This is great! LOL for the flying ford skidding away from the crash scene in the courtyard from tCoS(the Chamber of Secrets) Amazing job on the forbidden forest.(I just finished reading the "follow the spiders part from tCoS. I was recently at Universal's "the Wizarding World of Harry Potter" so I think I can judge a Hogwarts model accurately and I say this should be on desplay at the Lego store in Orlando FL or at "the Wizarding World of Harry Potter".
P.S. I love the dinosaur wallpaper in the background.
I'm for once lost for words, everything's been said! Just don't let your daughter forget that she is the luckiest person alive today! Keep this up! =) -Lewis

This is absolutly brilliant and (almost)entirely accurate to the movies! Quidditch Pitch is amazing!(although I did happen to notice Peter Pettigrew and Vernon Dursley in the stands?)It's also good how you included a mixture of all sorts of Years e.g.
Year 4's Durmstrang Ship
Year 2's Ford Angela car? etc.
And the forbidden forest is very good, including trolls & unicorns.
The only thing I could ask for would be more pictures of this!
Hands down BEST lego hogwarts EVER!!! This is an outstanding hogwarts! But I must ask, how many peices did it take you to build this? And how long did it take you? Did you already have all the peices? Or did you collect when you were a kid? Im just courious. I hope you never take it down. O' and by the way, YOUR DAUGHTER IS LUCKY!!!
This is amazing!!! It would be really cool if you showed pictures of the classrooms! I like how you changed the clocktower from set 4757. Your Great Hall is supurb, but I think you should post more pictures if you can.[p.s.,this is the best Hogwarts on the pages!]
Quoting Scorch Delta-62
I would give give you my every penny for this castle this is amazing! Please can you give me tips on how to make something like that??
Hi many thanks for your comments, first I build something then when its finished the bits I don't like I rebuild and the good bits I keep, sometimes I can do 5 or 6 rebuilds before I'm happy. this only adds to the fun for me I will add more photos soon as i'm planning a rebuild.
this isn't lego... this is art! i love this all specialy the stadium and the train and even though(trough my small flashes from the movies)there are somethings that are out of the area where they should be the simple but elaborate(yes i just said it)beauty of this is so amazing that it makes up for it and, again, that is the best quidditch pitch ever, may i take some inspiration from this to make my own stadium? oh 100 out of 2 very well done
this is ... i just... after seeing this i could die,go to heaven and this is were i would be
honestly why dont u apply for a job at the lego company
excellent but u should give us more pictures coz by not doing so ur not giving the respect that it deserves (i didnt mean that in an offencive way)
I can't quite remember how long this took to build but it was over at least a three year period. as more sets were bought we just kept rebuilding with periods of play between. most of the rooms were decorated by my daughter and are designed to be played with, the main buildings are constructed on 3 48x48 bases so they can be used individually. many thanks for all your comments.
Oh my ggggggggoooooooooooooossssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is the best creation ever.IIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
first of all, this is great-but dude below me,alex, chill out lol theres better at conventions (even though this is good) and the reason they don't make sets of this (the designers can and have made models) but they don't put into production because nobody would buy it. They would NOT make money because it would cost thousands. The box would be too large to get at a store, or would be a series of sets perhaps combined. The instructions would be like...500 pages long and it would cost so much to build that many peices they would probobly end up losing money because nobody would purchase it. Anybody willing to spend that much would not be of normal LEGO age, in which case they wouldnt be able to construct it. the only person who could afford to buy it would be an AFOL who could build that themselves. Just think about all that...lol
THIS IS THE BEST EVER SET I'VE SEEN...EVEN BETTER THAN ALL THE ORIGINAL SETS...THE SCHOOL IS GREAT...THE FOREST...THE LAKE...THE HOGSMEADE STATION...THE QUIDDITCH PITCH...ITS JUST AWESOME...GREAT WORK...THE LEGO COMPANY SHOULD TAKE THIS SET INTO CONSIDERATION...THEY WOULD GET LOADS OF MONEY IF THEY START SELLING IT...I JUST DONT GET HOW A WHOLE COMPANY CAN'T GET AN IDEA LIKE THIS AND MAKE THIS SET...THE ORIGINAL QUIDDITCH PITCH IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS...YOUR DAUGHTER IS SOOOOOO LUCKY...
You made it for your daughter - right. Enjoying the building process had nothing to do with it I'm sure ;-) It is a lovely (and massive) design - your daughter is very lucky to have a daddy like you. Lee.
