All in all it's just another brick in the wall
About this creation
I like building walls. (The amateur psychoanalysts among you can make of that what you will.) When I feel like building but have no set ideas in mind, I often experiment with wall-building techniques. Sometimes I even end up with something that could make its way into a future MOC. This was all Canary Plaza was -- I had a random wall laying around, and a random floor, and you can see the rest.
During BrickCon a horde of us AFOLs descended on the local Lego Store and pillaged the Pick-a-Brick. I got a lot of odd pieces that wouldn't sort into my overflowing bins when I got them home, so they sat on my coffee table for days in their PaB cups. One day I started making some walls with those pieces until I could figure out where I was going to put them, and ended up with several wall segments.
Usually when I build a little test wall, I take a picture or two just to remind myself how it goes in case I want to incorporate it into a future MOC, and then I dismantle it. For some reason this time I wanted to see how one of them looked in action, so I added a floor and some figs. Once I started that, I couldn't seem to stop.
So enjoy these little scenes, for what they're worth...

"I feel at home here."
The wonders of Pick-a-Brick in action. When I poured out the cup, I thought, "Why did I grab so many of these little white radar dishes again?"

"Get him!"
If I thought I'd gotten too many white dishes, it was nothing compared to the number of dark red round 1x1 plates I ended up with. You don't want to pay for more air in your PaB cup than absolutely necessary -- I used these little guys to fill up the nooks and crannies.

"Hey honey, lookin' for a good time?"
Clear 2x2 round bricks -- more Pick-a-Brick goodness.

WILL WORK FOR XHLACG
No Pick-a-Brick pieces here, but I did manage to use that stupid Watto minifig. He'll probably never be used again.

Mr. Black and Friend
His friend is a black owl, in case you can't tell. Why do I insist on building in black?

Out of the Loop
If you need an explanation for this, see The Chronos Project.

Shady deal
The first Pick-a-Brick wall I made. More dark red 1x1 round plates, on black headlight bricks. You can never have too many headlight bricks. I just wish they'd had a few more colors available at the time.

Space Ninjas!
My Space Ninjas are getting quite impatient with me dragging my feet on finishing their new battleground. Thought I'd throw them a bone here.

"Hey! Teacher! Leave those kids alone!"
Next time I'll have a real MOC, I promise.

Best trade of your life, right Shannon? =) |
|
|
... Or you could have dropped the fig of the highest point in Seatle and then, without emotion, walk back into the building, to silence any witnesses. |

Watto wasn't doing me much good, so I traded him to Lee Jones when we met at BrickCon08. I got 150 old light gray 2x4 bricks and the custom Bishop of Coleoidea minifig for him. I've already gotten more use out of them than I ever would have with Watto. |

Ha! These are great! I agree with your doppelganger...this is a great idea for a theme. A simple premise that anyone could try, but no end to the styles, colors, and techniques you could use. I'm not usually that colorful of a guy, but for some reason, I like "Out of the Loop." Again, nice idea here Shannon...now stop building walls and get back to work on that book! ;-P |

Very nice walls! Usually I'm too impatient and leave walls out of an MOC, but these are fantastic! Keep it up! |
