The SS Venture was the tramp steamer depicted in the 2005 remake of King Kong. Built in the 1880s the steamer sails to the South Pacific and the jungles of central Africa and Asia to capture exotic animals and take them back to New York so they can perform in the circus or the zoo. In the 2005 remake the Venture is used by Carl Denham to transport his cast and crew to Skull Island so for the price of 'a nickel people can see the last blank space on the map'.
The Lego version of the Venture is just over two feet in length and has lights in the superstrucutre. Apart from some missing handrails on the rear deck the ship is complete. Here it is depicted in the fog as it nears Skull Island. Reviews are appreciated.
As asked in most of the reviews here is the link to pictures of the Venture without the fog:
Excellent MOC! I've wanted to build a ship like this since watching King Kong. You did a great job. I esp. like the fog filled picture. Really adds to the spooky feel of the ship. This also reminds me of a Lego mystery I wrote called Ghost Ship. I used the new Harbor ship as a model. This makes a great ship for it as well. Overall, very nice.
