The demon of Basementonia - Coleoidea
Baron Dratsab visits the Forgotten Realm to discuss future plans with his lord and master - the demon Coleoidea
About this creation
The story of Basementonia continues:

Baron Dratsab has had to travel to the forgotten realm of the Old Ones in order to bring the greater demon Coleoidea the souls that he graves.

Coleoidea is the source of Dratsab’s powers of necromancy, but ‘he’ demands his price in return. His favourite souls are those of the ‘Light Flesh’ colonies – as they are his mortal enemies. The Light Fleshies imprisoned him in this forgotten realm, and Coleoidea has been doing all he can to wreak havoc in the lands of Basementonia and the House ever since.

Dratsab literally stumbled over this realm (he tripped on a forgotten book in the back of the Emperor’s library) and has been using Coleoidea powers to increase his own ever since. Coleoidea has been slowly taking over Dratsab's soul bit-by-bit, and eventually Dratsab will become another of his slaves.

Overview of the whole creation; the black and red ‘ramps’ off to the side were something my daughter added to make the creation ‘look nicer’. I liked them (and I love her with all my heart) so there they are to stay. Continued inspiration for this castle line comes from DARKspawn - I strive to reach his worse, which is higher than my best.

Overhead/oblique shot to highlight the river of blood and the pentagram containing Dratsab, as well as providing a better idea of the layout.

I just liked how the trans-red bricks ‘glowed’ in this picture. Credit for the inspiration for the tentacles belongs to Nannan Z .

Again, I just liked how Coleoidea’s ‘mouth’ glowed in this pic (no flash, window backlight, tripod).

Baron Dratsab (and again, please don’t spin the record backwards – it may say things you don’t want to hear) is back and safe within his pentagram. I tried making the pentagram in LDD first; however, I became frustrated with trying to design it to look good but in a realistic scale. I ended up just trial and error building it – darn tiles are hard to take off plates when they are grouped together.

The High Bishop – the only reason I built this whole darn creation. I was looking at a General Grievous figure when I wondered if this could be done with a minifig. Out came the drill and the utility knives and here is the result. I had to shave the ‘studs’ that hold the hips to the body so they would clear the arm joints, but everything is stable for regular play. The upper arms aren’t as mobile as the new lower ones, but they are both functional.

Some say the that the Bishop comes from a far away land that exists in the future, and a magical spell gone wrong transported a monkey and a man back in time, but melded their DNA (and yes, this term does fit in with the story; please see Book Burning ). The now six-limbed man was shunned by all and could only mumble about a strange land called Seattle and a skunk works project gone wrong. He dropped the strange name SYoung and became Coleoidea’s High Bishop. Some say that Bishop is plotting against Coleoidea, but no-one is sure.

The Table of Sacrifice. This is where the Light Fleshies give their blood to feed the rivers. Trans-red for the dripping blood underneath.

Highlighting the wall (Technic bricks, ½ pins, and tiles); the technique was based on Steve DeCraemer's Winter Home of the Happy Sunshine People . However, to be honest, the real reason why this wall is here is because of Shannon Young’s posting labeled Walls .

The Faceless Guards – if you have no mouth you cannot scream…

The Faceless Priestesses – see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil…

The people that have been mentioned here have been an inspiration for this creation; however, there are many that have not been mentioned – I apologize for not taking the extra time to track down everyone’s page and give them the credit they deserve.

You get lots of points for the evil factor. The build is, of course, amazing, and the concept is cool. As I was reading along, I read the name Baron Dratsab, and was wondering how you came up with it. Then I read it backwards...

Very nice. I love the wall, the use of transparent pieces, and the use of SO many minifigs is excellent. However, I have to wonder what goes on at your house sometimes.....

Well of course I tried to review this when it first came out, but it wouldn't go through. Maybe it will work this time if I tone it down a bit: As the newly-ordained High Bishop of Coleoidea I say BLASPHEMY!!! -1 smiley for cutting a Lego part! HERESY!!! -1 smiley for suggesting any project of The Skunk Works could go wrong! But +1 smiley for each of His Holiness's MOCs that you plug! So I name a building in Shannonia for you and am repaid by being turned into a four-armed monkeyman -- the High Bishop will not forget this...

Very evil scene.... but it is a very clever MOC with plenty of thought to the detail included which makes this impressive. The High Bishop minifig is also creative, and would have taken plenty of care to achieve this fine result. Well done.
