An alternate model of the LEGO 8275 Bulldozer set, but this one allows for real digging!
About this creation
Though admittedly the LEGO 8275 Bulldozer set is pretty accurate to a real bulldozer, i thought i could increase the playability. You see, there is not so much floor suitable to be ripped and flattened at home :)
I modified the bucket such that it can really hold stuff, rather than merely pushing/flattening.
The bucket required a flat bottom over the whole width, enabling to scope up stuff.
Also a mechanism was devised that both lifts and tilts the bucket for using it as a real loader!
The two elastic rubber bands to the exhaust were required to offset the weight of the bucket, else the white gear wheel would start slipping when lifting a load. It definitely is no good for the looks, but i'd rather not exchange the slip gear wheel to an ordinary gear and possibly twist axles or break a gear!
In the picture you see the bucket in its tilted position to empty or to dig in the ground.
You can see the model in action on YouTube, follow this link: TiltLiftBulldozer.
There are no build instructions yet, maybe the video and pictures allow you to build it.
I was going to give you a two because I don't care for technic or bulldozers but that video was the best thing ive seen in months. Greatness. Minus 1 for letting one of candies fall from the truck. Nice Try!
