Winter Meeting
About this creation
Two lovers from rival samurai clans meet in secret on a cold winter day.

My first genuine non-space and mecha creation. I was inspired to try my hand at building a snow scene after seeing the snowscaping in KeithLUG's Omicron Weekend, and this was the result. Originally this was supposed to include two samurai warriors meeting for a duel, but the whole thing ended up looking so peaceful and serene that I switched the model's theme to that of Love!

Very nice job! The whole scene is beautiful, especially the arch. You're right, this is much, much better as a love scene.

Cool Moc! Question: who carries a sword to a lover's meeting? Samurai, I guess. :)

Why do they always have to be from rival clans? Why can't they live down the street from one another and have a healthy normal non-potentially-lethal relationship? Haha

Superb construction. Love the simplistic design and the dots of snow on the trees. It rings out everything about feudal china! I cqn almost smell the lotus blossom. :) great work and congratulations on MOTD.

dude, that's amazing! You should do more scenes in this genre. The snow effect is really cool. This would look cool with two guys getting ready to duel, but the "lovey dovey" kind of thing looks great to.

Very cool idea and a nice Torii gate. It's refreshing to see a well done MOC that has nothing to do with robots, space, or Star Wars. The snow on the trees is a nice touch. You should do more builds along a historical theme since this one turned out so well.

Beautiful, but if youre going to put a sttory behind it, try and make something that isn't a cheap version of romeo and julliet in a japanese theme!!!

A very good depiction of a Japanese Romeo and Juliet. If you get a chance, please take a look at my newest tank.

alright king of knightmares, here is how it goes, 1. there is no need for unnessecary violence, 2. not everything has to have mechs in it, people are alowwed to take breaks from their usual work, and 3. work on your spelling, i mean seriously do you know how hard to read that was

you know what would have been nice...?SOME MECHS,man all you did was just show a simple litte scene, even though i can tell you worked really hard on this thing, come on man!you couldn't at least, have them do anything more, come on,what i expected from you(even though i don't think that iv'e ever graded your work or probably know who you even are!)was mechs at least thats what you said in your(about this creation)i mean, the leasst you could do is have a scene where there like about to kiss and then woriers come in and the couple have to fight for there lifes, only if it's japan way back in the day,of if it's not you coult have mechs interupt there kiss and then they have to share one mech together inside of the cockpit, and have it out with both sides of the war on there tail.thats what i would have liked to have seen!so as a man who was force to be a tougher grader i must give this a 6out of10,sorry that i had to do it man.maby you could add some more pics with my suggestions in it,but really i really do respect your work, and espacaily since the whole snow thing, well now i will check out you r mechs,i hope there good!

Ooh, very passionate. I like the chinese-style gate in the background. Oh, and does this remind anyone else of Romeo and Juliet (two clans/familys, couple not allowed to see each other etc)??

This is great I like that you change it from a duel to a love scene. You should have the two clans fight each other.

It's beautiful, however I think if you had kept your original idea of two warriors meeting in for a duel it would be much cooler. Warriors fighting in a beautiful setting would have filled the piece with a certain dramatic irony. With two young lovers, it's a little too "Hallmark". On the other hand...it could be the lovers final meeting before one or the other is killed in a horrible battle.

Brilliant! Two persons' feeling of meeting secretly is transmitted in the snow-covered landscape. A "topknot" should just be in the headgear of minifig. Wonderful JOB. PS:Thank you for the review to my work.Sorry. I am not good at English.
