This model is one which started with my parent buying me the Technic model of the Ferrari enzo, in itself, a fairly basic model, no suspension, hand of god steering, but a new innovation which i had not seen before, the 3 stud pattern wheel attachments.. more on that in the next installment though.
i started by building the car up in it's basic form, at which point, i was looking for things to improve on, as i had had the other lego supercars, and enjoyed then thoroughly..
first, i started by making a fairly crude attempt at a suspension setup, making two 'strut tops' for the suspension parts i already had, but these, apart from being rubbish, were very bulky and unstable, (a problem i solved in the third incarnation of this model)
second, after playing around with the suspension, and being fairly happy with it, i got bored again, and had to try something a little more daring, such as moving a large racing-type v12 from the rear to the front, to more reflect the 612 scallietti - (awesome car, sister of the 599)
in doing this though, i made a few sacrifices in the construction of the chassis, having to move the cockpit backwards, extending the dash, removing a few supports here and there, making it look good, but making it wobbly.
and finally, after extending the rear suspension to fix the problem of suspension and drive (took hours, lol) i had to re-style the bodywork entirely, as the position of the engine, the width of rear track, made it look rubbish.
