A message from The Skunk Works founder and CEO:
It is my sad duty to report that our proud company was recently found to have been infiltrated by a corporate spy. After being discovered, the mole was unfortunately killed while attempting to escape, so exactly which corporation(s) he was working for is currently unknown. Among the effects found on his body was a disc containing top secret information about a test run of a new prototype battle mech for our Corporate Military division. It is impossible to say whether or not the spy had a chance before his death to transmit this information to any outside parties. We have to operate under the assumption that he did. In which case it is in our best interest to make the contents of the disc public, before our competitors can make any profit by selling our secrets.

Automated Battle Mech Prototype (ABM-1207P)

Available information suggests that the ABM prototype was designed as a direct response to the shortcomings of the MI-1007B, which was helpless when faced with stairs or overly steep grades.
The ABM is much more mobile, and with sophisticated on-board AI, can react more quickly to changing situations than the MI-1007B, which is remote controlled. Being completely autonomous also eliminates the risk of the unit being immobilized in the event of its command link being jammed or controller taken out.
Unlike the MI-1007B, the guns of the ABM can move independently, allowing one unit to react to threats coming from multiple directions at the same time.
The prototype is programmed to accept surrender from an enemy combatant. In production this function would most likely be optional, in the event it was deployed by a commander with a "take no prisoners" mentality.
Being a prototype, the programmers are allowed to have a bit of fun with the ABM. Here it is shown posing in a self-congratulatory victory celebration. In a real battle there would of course be no time for this kind of nonsense.

In its initial test run, this prototype performed flawlessly. More information is needed on how it would react in a more realistic battlefield setting, but nevertheless my recommendation is to steal this design immediately.

Very cool. This bot has character! I love it's dumpy shape & radar dish head. I like the white & bley colour scheme too, very appliance like in this case. Bot on! (no you havn't seen this review before, it's dejavu) |

Before this spy was killed, he didn't happen to say any names? Err.. you know, just out of curiosity.. Anyhow, now that it's public knowledge, we congratulate you on another great product. The background looks just as good. |

It would be rather humiliating to be killed by this little guy, who resembles a large, slightly chubby, heavily armed Pit Droid. But I suppose that's part of the tactics: The enemy was already afraid of dying, now he'll be afraid of the humiliation factor as well, especially of a robot that can take prisoners. Thus conceitedness doth make cowards of us all... oh, and good job on the LEGO! |
