This is my LEGO version of the Wraith Mortar Tank, the main assault vehicle used by the Covenant in Halo - Combat Evolved.
About this creation
The minifigs shown here were made using DECAL (STICKER) designs custom-drawn by me. I now provide a printing service for these decals HERE.
This creation was based on the Halo 1 rendition of the Wraith, so it's a
bit simplistic, as it was in that original game. It was first posted on my
site on May 11, 2004.
The turret comes up. In Halo 1, it didn't have those fancy little flaps
that pop out of the sides like in the sequel. In fact, the Wraith was
pretty much just a blob. It was so simplistic that it's hard to even
notice it when it's parked. You know those big purple round crate things
in the Truth & Reconciliation hangars? They are actually Wraiths. If you
chuck enough grenades at them, you can blow them up. Still can't drive
them though.
Since it was never really shown clearly in Halo 1 how the pilot entered
the vehicle, I went with the easiest LEGO approach and just made the whole
front end flip open.
Q: What do you get when you land a group of Wraiths on a Halo
installation?
A: Ringwraiths!
Ahem... er... never... nevermind.

Not bad! Even the LotR-joke had something about it.
In "Two Betrayals" you can actually watch how a Sangheili enters a wraith through a hatch on the top, just like in later counterparts. It happens right after you left the control room and walked down to the base of the structure. Use the sniper rifle to zoom in on the parked wraith. When the aggressive theme begins, you should see how the Elite jumps out of nowhere on the wraith and disappears through the hatch. If you manage to kill him the wraith will stay parked and undamaged. |

5/5 saw this first on your website. Although I do have to say. I recently downloaded DevTrainer to have fun with the Campaign on Halo CE (PC). I had stopped time while on a map later in the game. I came to an unmanned Mortar Wraith and found an open hatch. Actually in halo, you do see how the elites enter the warth the same way you do in halo 2. This is a good creation, nice job. :) |

This is ,surprisingly, still one of the best wraiths on the interwebz. Unfortunately I don't have enough blue pieces to make much covie stuff, but I HAVE a ghost that I will post soon. Never the less, this was made years ago, and it is really time for version 2, maybe in the halo3 batch. |
