Planescape: Torment Character Minifigs
My own custom LEGO minifig versions of the bizarre characters from the Dungeons & Dragons D&D PC RPG game Planescape - Torment.
About this creation
This series of LEGO customs was made on a whim. I had just finished playing the great PC RPG game set in the bizarre Dungeons & Dragons world of Planescape known as Planescape - Torment. Then, when I was in my LEGO room, I began fiddling with pieces and putting together some of the characters. Finally I just decided to finish them all and put them on my website. You may not have heard of Planescape: Torment, because, although the critics loved the game and it got high praise in most all of its reviews, it received a disappointingly low number of sales. Still, it was a great game and truly an unforgettable experience to play! For more information on the game, see my RPG Video games section on my website... Anyway, here are the minifigs:

Here are all the characters in front of the game logo. The web address of my website is at the bottom, because I wanted a link in the Brickshelf gallery...

Annah is a slimy street urchin. She's a fighter/thief who dual-wields punch-daggers. She's also a tiefling, meaning that she has some demonic blood in her veins. This demon blood causes her to have pale skin, red hair, a tail sprouting from her rump, and a chaotic bad attitude. I made her tail out of an elephant tusk, in case you're wondering. If you look at it from this angle, it looks good, but from the back you can see the odd way it's attached.

Here's what Annah looks like in the game... strange, huh?

Dak'kon is a fighter/mage and a very good one. You should definitely keep him around, especially if you're planning to become a mage yourself, so that he can train you. He is a Githzerai, a race of plane-walking people from the plane of Limbo, and he is a Zerth, one of the priests of the Githzerai. He is a very stoic and lawful warrior who wields the Karach Blade, an ancient sword forged from chaos matter that reacts to his will and emotions, changing shape and color. It will cease to exist if taken from him. Strangely enough, he never uses the big axe on his back. Yes, I did re-use the axe and shoulder pauldrons from my Lord of the Rings Gimli custom for him.

Here's a screenshot of what Dak'kon looks like in the game.

One of the most interesting characters in the game, Fall-from-Grace is a succubus, a kind of beautiful female demon born on the plane of the Abyss, that tempts mortals into crimes of passion. However, she has "fallen from grace" and become a rather "good" succubus, giving up her evil nature in favor of a conservative life of knowledge-seeking and adventure. She is a cleric of no particular faith who refuses to use weapons. Nevertheless, she is very useful and one of my favorite characters. I used paper for her wings. I don't consider this cheating, as it is similar to LEGO's capes...

...though I did have to tape the wings onto her back to get them to stay down.

Here is what Grace looks like in the game.

Here are (from left to right) Ignus, Vhailor, and Dak'kon fighting a group of skeletons. Yes, I added Vhailor's glowing eye effects with Paintshop Pro.

Here is Nordom shooting a skeleton with his crossbows. One hit, one miss.

And here are (left to right) Annah, Morte, Fall-from-Grace, and the Nameless One fighting yet more skeletons. Grace is supposed to be casting a spell, by the way.

One of my favorite characters in the game, Ignus is an extremely powerful mage who devoted his magical research to spells that dealt with the element of fire. He concentrated on this one field so much that he became obsessed over it and lit an entire section of the city of Sigil ablaze... just to watch it burn. As punishment, the mage citizens of Sigil turned Ignus's body into a conduit to the Elemental Plane of Fire. But instead of consuming him... the flames joined with him! Thus he became one of the most powerful forces on the Planes. He's also a hard custom to make, as you can see. I did my best anyway, and it is pretty cool to hold a flashlight over his head and see his eyes and mouth glow. As he says when he levels up: "The flames grow within me!"

Here is how Ignus looks in the game.

Morte is basically your humorous sidekick, the first person to join your party and the one person you should never, ever kick out. Yes, he's a floating skull with eyeballs. No, he's not a demi-lich. In fact, he's a fighter, with no magical attacks and only his teeth to fight with. He's surprisingly effective, however, especially with his ability to unleash his wide vocabulary of curses at an enemy, thus causing them to attack him melee out of pure rage. Very useful against wizards... He is simple as a LEGO, of course.

And here is Morte from the game.

The Nameless One and Morte sort of go together... like sidekicks, you know?

Here they are again, as LEGOs.

This is the Nameless One in the game. Scroll down more for the LEGO.

Nordom is a modron, a strange robotic construct that looks like a cube with a face and arms, "born" in the plane of Mechanus. He certainly looks stupid, IMO, but he is rather funny and he does have his uses. After all, his four arms give him the ability to wield and fire two crossbows at once! That's prety cool if you ask me. Nordom was also one of the most fun customs to build, and I absolutely love the way my LEGO turned out.

Here is Nordom's look in the game. Rather odd, wouldn't you say?

The Nameless One is the main character of Planescape Torment, the guy you play as. He is an immortal who reawakens every time he dies. You awaken after one such incident with no memory of who you are or where you are, and that is how the game begins. As you can see, he's not a very handsome guy. Since he has been through a lot of battles, he has plenty of scars all over his grey flesh. He's powerful too, and not the sort of guy you'd want to meet in a dark alley.

Vhailor is a ghost in a suit of armor, kept alive only by his undying will, his desire to spread law and justice, with no mercy, throughout the planes. He is a Mercykiller, and one tough fighter with a big axe. He was one of the first LEGO customs I built, thanks to the fact that I didn't have to do that much. His helmet was one of the Black Knight helmets with bat wings, but I cut off the bat wings and shaved off part of the back so that the helmet would fit on the big UFO shoulder pauldrons. Yes, I added his glowing eyes with a spray can in the computer. If you want to see him without them, visit the Brickshelf gallery.

And, finally, here is Vhailor in the game.

It is good to see Torment is *known* to those who lego. I don't normally like customized bricks / figs, but this is a nice collection of them.
