This is my giant keep. I initially built it over a three month period in 2005. It was ready in time for the Brickish Association Christmas Party that year. The original build was something of a compromise due to a limited supply of bricks and restriction of the part types available.
Having gotten my hands on a greater variety of tan parts in early 2006, I sent a day making it bigger, including the use of parts specially acquired. It was about a seven hour modifying build in total.
I expanded it again in mid 2006, incorporating another floor into the design which includes a chapel, though these pics pre-date that. The last time it was displayed was the Brickish Association Christmas Party that year. By 2007 it had been demolished.
The keep separates into four sections for transport - the base, mid and upper levels; and the front face. This is because the total weight of it at full height is about 25kg and the count after demolition was over 10,000 pieces.
this is absolutley positively completely any other adjective with the same meaning amazing!! its enourmous! you have no idea how jealous I am of the size of your lego collection!
Very well done... I enjoy seeing castles and keeps that are large and imposing and this one definitely makes the cut.
Again... well done!
