LIU Vindex
Drop up to six soldiers with this armored, atmospheric craft...
About this creation
LIU Vindex

After a couple requests for a dropship, the Ludgonian Industrial Union finally manned up and tried our hand at it. We wouldn't want to disappoint our customers, would we? So, we present to you, the LIU Vindex.

Vindex: (latin) champion, defender, protector, avenger, revenger, one who punishes. It doesn't really do any of those things, but designers thought it was too cool to pass up. I mean, what if some other corporation got to it first!

The Vindex is an atmospheric dropship. Its hold is not pressurized and you will certainly kill your men if you take into space. If your battle plan is to trick enemy soldiers into boarding, then, by all means, take a nice long spaceflight.

The front view shows the double cockpit, which is in fact, pressurized. Don't worry, the cockpits are open to one another, and your men can still hold hands during rough landings.

The roof of the Vindex has all the usual dropship things: vents, bars, antennas, and other greebley junk.

You better bet this baby is armored. Nothing is more precious than your soldiers. However, it does have some gaps, as you can see the yellow heads of the occupants inside. Just hope no one aims there. Hoping usually works. Usually.

Two wing-based thrusters and eight rear thrusters insure that the weighty dropship is as fast as any other ship on the market.

More of the roof, just in case you hadn't had your fill of antennas.

In a ...ahem... marvel of enginering, the wings left on both sides swing up, revealing the small hold. As you can see, the hold is large enough for six soldiers. It may not seem like a lot, but the smaller a dropship is, the harder it is to hit.

Behind the cockpits, on both sides, are small cargo holds. Carry your troops' supplies in here.

The wings open on both sides....

Here's some soldiers hopping out and charging into battle. Glory shots like these can sell anything...

Its a LIU first, a way into a cockpit that doesn't involve removing the canopy. We are very proud of this advancement, but we probably won't do it again unless we have to. Here, it is shown closed.

Here, it is shown open.

Note: No one in the LIU actually speaks latin or has ever taken any latin classes. However, we do have an english to latin dictionary. Why? Who knows, but it came in handy for the first time ever. Vale.

It's very cool, I just don't feel that 6 soldiers are good enough. Also, why do you sell to everyone? I'm fighting that person who declared war on you, and I'll fight you if I have to. (check out my homepage for clarification)

Excellent job! the thing thats sets this apart from the average dropship is the completely armored side hatches, brilliant! they only open when it is safe to unload the troops. oh ant the double cockpit is really nice too!

Great design - the Delorean of Dropships with those wings and doors that swing upward! Too bad we don't have sound to go with the images here...we could play Carmina Burana as the troops go charging into battle...you know...to go with the whole Latin theme thing. "Dulce et decorum est pro LIU mori!!" (essentially: it is sweet and right to die for LIU!)

This is a great dropship, the gaps don't bother me its the overall shape I like. It looks durable and its large section allows it to carry alot of troops, or that's the impression some may get anyway. Again nice work, good color scheme.

Really good, i like the grey color, but there could be a little more room for men, instead of cargo space, please review my dropship http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/41861 thanks

Very nice work indeed. Great work on the greebling. Umm..It doesn't look like the soldiers can get out very quickly, leaving more chance for this to get shot as it's sitting-duck on the ground.

Wedge-y! The overall shape is really complemented by the light gray color. Nice greebling too!
