Xooc-132132 Yellow Lightning is a heavy fighter/bomber that can play many roles. It was originally designed as a light one-man fighter, but due to the specific needs of agility, shields, and speed, it was enlarged and improved. Yellow Lightnings are known for their high agility when their shields are off, and their ability to withstand heavy firepower. They were also designed with mass-production in mind, so armour and missiles were limited.
A view of the cockpit with the canopy off. You can see the control stick/throttles and the heavy homing rockets on the wings, as well as the beginning of the nose.
The aggressive front view. This Yelllow Lightning is just waiting to hit you. The rotating light pulse cannons (on the nose) and wing tip rockets are visible as well. On this type of fighter, the landing gear folds up into the belly.
An almost rear view, consisting of the engine and rear fins. The vents (a fast fighter needs those) and lower tail fins. GZXC engineering had designers work long and hard to find a suitable engine, and they finally settled upon an E7-Triplejet engine, the most characteristically and design accurate. The top tail fins weren't stabilising very well, so the engineers came up with a new idea--the design of the long gray sliver on the top tail fins which curves the airflow BEHIND the fighter.
The E7-Triplejet engine -- one of the most precise engines out there.
A little bit behind the wings in this picture is the small cargo/bomb bay. The space can be used to house advanced communications devices, jammers, and even a smaller sonic beam emmitter.
The computer-programmed missiles on the wings. The missiles are quite powerful -- GZXC Engineering just discovered a method of compacting more explosive material into its missiles.
The cockpit armour, as well as the canopy and pilot. Right behind the cockpit is another compartment for weapons or other devices.
The heavy homing rockets. They are actually not very powerful -- it is their accuracy that makes them so deadly. They can also be programmed to release more or less explosive charge. Programmed specifically, one of these rockets can destroy only the lasers on a TIE fighter (leaving the rest of the fighter intact)!
Another pic of the cargo/bomb bay. The deflector shields are located a little in front of the cargo/bomb bay.
When you see this on the battlefield, you are going to be either very happy or very sad.
Another compartment in the nose filled up with survival gear and weapons.
All of the gear spred out -- comlink, health pack, and blaster.
