A minifig-scale model of Scaled Composites' SpaceShipOne; the first privately operated suborbital spacecraft.
About this creation
This is a minifig-scale model of Scaled Composite's "SpaceShipOne", the first successful privately financed and operated civilian spacecraft. website
The craft is carried up to 50,000 ft by a specially designed jet named "White Knight" (which will be my next project ;) At that altitude, the spacecraft is released (like the X-15) and a rocket engine ignites and boosts it to about 100 km, for a suborbital flight that gives the pilot and up to two passengers about 3 minutes of weightlessness before gliding back to earth

closeup of the cockpit design. The two transparent screens are held together only by the rubber bands, and are held in place by the white and grey 'flag' parts.
Awesome! Pretty amazing detail! Huge too. Cockpit isn't that accurate, but building it well out of legos would have been impossible! Glad to see you included The White Knight.
