The Akayev is a Zhukov Class shuttle, with some minor design changes from the original Zhukov. The main hull is the same, and the Akayev still carried a crew of four.
The Akayev carries only two nuclear torpedos and two laser guns, but has an increased capacity and range for sensor scans.
notice the sensor tower above the main fuselage and the communications node below the crew quarters. While not specifically improvements over the Zhukov, these added sensors increase the Akayev's hunting ability.
