This is a less-than-mini-fig scale castle. I finally have enough gray to make a decent-sized castle.
I built this in two days over one weekend in 2004. I finally had a LOT of gray (old light and dark) LEGO and decided to spontaneously freebuild a very tall, seemingly architecturally-impossible castle on a mountaintop. The staircase was all I had envisioned at the beginning of the build.
I went through all my gray pieces and picked out all of the arches and inverted slopes to see what was available to me for the entire castle. Based on that I just built upwards and outwards 'til I ran low on pieces...
Glad to see you add this to some new groups - I would have missed it otherwise! Fantastic build! Although the texturing seems a bit simple nowadays I'm sure back in 2004 this was the pinnacle of castle building! An inspiration to those who have laid the way for the rest of us. I am loving all the arches and overhangs! ~Thoy
