Zombie Apocalypse: safehouse
Here it is: my first ever attempt at the "Zombie Apocalypse" theme. It's an old appartment block that's been turned into a safehouse for apocalypse survivors.
About this creation
Yes, this is basically I AM LEGEND, except a longer time period has passed since the origanal infection.

The year is 2034. The Virus has now killed over 4 billion people.

beginning in the year 2020, a new medicine, Vitoform, was created. It could completley eradicate all cancerous cells from a human body. Scientists, Doctors and regular people marveled at how this could save billions of lives in years to come. The medicine was a savior.

They were all wrong. Horribly, Horribly wrong.

The medicine had a completley opposite effect: It killed. Over 4 billion people. and of the additional 2 billion, 3 quarters were turned into mindless creatures (aka Zombies) that would do anything for human flesh. Fotunetly, they could not stand the suns radiation, thay will burn up.However, some were immune. A cure has not yet been developed, but if injected with a special shot, a person can not be contaminated.... that is, until it wears off. Many of the immune people were killed as well, and fed on. But there were survivors. Only a million or so, but they banded together.
This MOC is one of the "colonies" that has formed in a ruined apartment block that has been completely fortified, next to an old trein track. It's my first go at the theme, so input welcome!

a shot from the side. The ruined train track is also visible.

a shot oft he camp from above.

the inner camp.

the ruined track, covered in overgrowth and a dead human.

the steel gate, fortified with 2 giant iron bars.

the ONLY way of transport. Very rarely do they venture outside the camp, but sometimes food is needed.

the solar panels, that connect to a power generator for the building, providing heat, cool air (for refrigeration) and powering computers and the giant flood lights.

sleeping tents.

the power generator.

REPLIES:

No, Curt Y, I'll hae to pick it up a Wal-Mart

That's a great job! I love this MOC. If you don't mind, I'm going to base something on this, yet it will be set far into the future, like, say, the year 2600, when mechs, Interstellar drives and hoverbikes are readily available. Thanks for the inspiration! -Jon

Great Job on a post Apocalypic base I like all the rubble around the base and how makeshift the whole base is(ex. the front gate) THe floodlights are a smart idea to keep the zombies at bay during the night. The tents are probalay my favorite part as there so simple and effective. My only critizism is that I wish there was a bit more of a base like if you built just the appartment block then fortified it there should be a least some random rooms or charteristics so that you could tell from looking at it that the "safe house" was once an appartment block. I won't doc you on that however as the base is still well done.

Why do people have to rip on a 13 year old kid who is excited about a movie he just saw and was inspired by to create something cool for us to look at and share? Great stuff Mr. Web, your skills can only improve from this point on. I had some constructive criticism for you, but I won't bother, your stuff is great without it. keep it up ~ Chris.

Nice moc, but you do know that the creatures in I am legend were vampires not zombies. If you don't believe me read the book by Richard Matheson, bewarned the movie is nothing like the book [the book was better].

It would be four(4) stars, BUT your story line is not in any way original. However, it's a very good moc, i'd like to see more stuff in this theme.

Verah naise! Seen alot of World War Z mocs, but this definitely captures the intended atmosphere, especially with the touches of vegetation. Not the most original thing I've seen, but excellent for what it is.
