"The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo."
About this creation
I have a thing for hitmen. Assassins, contract killers, facilitators; take your pick. Fascinating stuff. Movies may have played a part in my weird obsession. Leon, Anton Chigurh, Jules & Vincent, Jason Bourne, Martin Blank, Julian Noble: some of the best characters in cinema were hitmen.
Which brings me back to the collection of characters before you. It was late Saturday night, and I had nothing to do, as is tradition. The thought struck me: minifigs. Not just minifigs, mind you, but assassin minifigs. Yes. Crazy ones. A rogue gallery of plastic hitmen. A touch of Team Fortress II, a dash of "Smokin' Aces", a dose of Batman villains, a bit of literary inspiration during the naming process, and there they were: The Irregulars. A group of eight guns-for-hire, each one more psychotic than the next.
It'd make a great movie.
*Oh, and no "Check out my stuff!" comments please. Really, don't do it. It annoys the hell out of me.
The gang.

Name: The White Rabbit
Base of operation: San Francisco
Weapon of choice: Unknown. Anyone who sees inside that briefcase dies shortly after. Little is known about the White Rabbit. He shows up, does his thing, and leaves before the blood hits the floor. Always in such a hurry. It’s as if he’s late for something.
Fun fact: Is an accomplished painter.
- - - - - - -
Name: The Lory
Base of operation: Philadelphia
Weapon of choice: Butterfly knife. Not the smartest of killers, The Lory relies on brute force rather than finesse. Just as effective, sure, but the unoriginality and gracelessness of his killings tends to ostracize him from the hitman community, which is no easy task.
Fun fact: In grade school, was always picked first for dodgeball.
- - - - - - -
Name: The Cheshire Cat
Base of operation: Toronto
Weapon of choice: Sniper rifle. The Cheshire Cat is the ghost of the modern world. You don’t see him coming, and you can’t prepare. The only warning you’ll ever get is a soft bang from a rooftop a block away. A moment later…
Fun fact: Is a diehard Stooges fan.
- - - - - - -
Name: The Mad Hatter
Base of operation: Paris
Weapon of choice: Axe. Jack the Ripper finds an admirer in The Mad Hatter. His victims are most often found in pieces: “Nothing if not thorough,” they say of the Hatter. The Mad Hatter is hired for crimes of passion - cheating spouses, rejected lovers, etc - and is in high demand around mid February.
Fun fact: Was, and is, a huge Lego enthusiast.
- - - - - - -
Name: The March Hare
Base of operation: Chicago
Weapon of choice: Tommy gun. The March Hare wears a helmet to conceal his identity. Some say he’s a white-collar businessman, a mob goon, batboy for the Cubs, or even the mayor’s aide. No matter who he really is, The Hare is a loose cannon: his last job left 7 dead, 29 wounded, and caused $5 million in damages (it was at a Rolls dealership). Give him some room, and he’ll do the job without any collateral damage. Put him in close quarters and he’ll shoot his way though.
Fun fact: Is afraid of clowns.
- - - - - - -
Name: The Dormouse
Base of operation: San Diego
Weapon of choice: Explosives. The Dormouse avoids guns; “Too dangerous,” he says. He opts for the Big Bang instead. A former Hollywood pyrotechnician, The Dormouse left the industry over “pay issues,” right about at the time a studio head’s car “accidentally” exploded due to an “unintentionally” ruptured gas tank and a “carelessly” discarded lit match.
Fun fact: Has perfect pitch.
- - - - - - -
Name: The Gryphon
Base of operation: New York
Weapon of choice: Shotgun. The Gryphon rarely sees sunlight; he rides the subway everywhere he goes and only surfaces at night. He barely needs to leave the comforts of the metro system at all: how many New Yorkers don’t take subway? Sooner or later, you’ll head down there, and if you find yourself alone on some empty platform and hear that ominous sound from behind you - that of a Remington being pumped - do us all a favor and try not to get your blood on the walls. It stains something terrible.
Fun fact: Hates “The Godfather”. I know, right?
- - - - - - -
Name: The Mock Turtle
Base of operation: London
Weapon of choice: 9mm. The Mock Turtle makes his living through corporate killings: embezzlers, business rivalries, shady executives, and the like. He is methodical, meticulous, and never misses. What’s more, he’s a real charmer. Beware the man in the dark green suit who finds you in a pub, buys you a drink, tells a few jokes, and offers you a ride home. You’ll be floating facedown on the Thames by morning.
Fun fact: Cuts his price in half if the target is a United fan.

A sequel is in the works. Any ideas for locations?

I'm not sure I have enough minifig parts to make a third installment, but sooner or later I'll give it a try. |

you should make another set of assasins with names based on old monster movies (dracula, the mummy, creature from the black lagoon, ect.) |

These are excellent. Each one is very unique. White Rabbit is very mysterious. The Lory is like a thug. Cheschire Cat is a shadowy figure. Mad Hatter seems to be just insane. March Hare is an ironic person.(Hes afraid of clowns, but has a clown looking mask on. Reminds me of a joker henchman.) Dormouse has an interesting style. Gryphon is a night killer. Mock Turtle kills his own kind. All in all, nicely done. |

Actually, they're all named after Alice in Wonderland characters. It seemed like a good naming scheme. |

WOW! Those are some psychotic assassins! Weel done. How about setting the story in Downtown Chicago? The city you built looks great. Maybe just add a subway for the dude who rides it. (Sorry, forgot his name :P) I think I have something common with one of the assassins (the clone trooper guy): We're both scared of clowns! Man, you might just see me and him fighting through evil clowns one day. Who knows! |

I know you probably wouldn't want to but you could make a stop motion film although with a story this serious you would have to really work on you backgrounds like it would have to be a very accurate train station (for the train who i love) anyway nice email when or if you get a sequal up (or if you have a sequal up email me and tell me) either way my email is sithsean@yahoo.com |

The Dormhouse HAS to be inspired by the Trash Can Man from The Stand! The Pilot hat, he's a pyromaniac! It has to be inspired by the Kingster (Icase you don't know what I'm saying, the Trash Can Man is a character from the famous Stephen King Book, "The Stand") |

There's so many things to love about these guys, the March Hare's helmet, the fact that the Gryphon looks like the Engineer from TF2, and, of course, the back stories. This is one of my all-time faves! |
