Okay, get ready for lots of reading material.

Inspiration:

So, after looking around MOCpages, I have concluded that there are only 3 Mumaks worth mentioning. One is mine, one is made of Bionicles, and the other is totally out of scale. When browsing around MOCpages one day, I decided that something had to be done about the lack of decent Mumaks out there. So, I made one myself, designed to be movie accurate.

Creation

I have a Creator set that has a wholly mammoth as one of the alternate models. I decided to take that, and make it. From there, I changed the body so that it worked, and then changed the head some. I decided that it needed to be grey (the original was red) so I redid the whole thing. After that, I made the tower. After a few tweaks, this is the final result.

This is the set that I started with. You will have to copy and paste it.

A comparison pic.

Front, with figs. Notice the, uh, pilot (that is the bald one). He was suppose to have reigns attached to the mumak's ears, but that did not work in exchange for the poles.

Notice that the side of the mouth has a very small, sort of mini tusk. Yes, that is in the movie.

Tired of this side yet? Well, the other is the exact same thing.

My Nazgul. My family thinks it looks like Vader, but that is just to bug me.

The mouth. You can see that is has one, and it's 4 tusks.

Some have spikes on the tusks, and some have this: the barbed... rope in between the tusks to ram through the people. I had to twist the chain in order to get it the right size.

3/4 without figs. Doesn't it look so much better without those pesky Clones and Exo-force guys on it?

Top three layers. There are 4 in total, like there are suppose to.

Okay, so it really does not have fire, but come on! It looks cool!

Back without people.

Without Jar Jar. I think that it turned out very nice. The walls are suppose to get shorter in the middle.

This is a high shot. I wanted to show that the tower is supported by four poles (like the real thing). It is a little hard to see it with the people.

Without tower.

To compare for size. It's my Nazguil.

The red part of the head is not part of the tower. Some of them have dark red painted onto their foreheads. I thought it looked cool, so I did it.

Same thing with the legs.

So, some flaws. 1) Obviously, the minifigs. They are sadly about 3/4 of my minifig collection. So, I could not do much about that. 2) Size. The mumak is about 1/2 the size it should be. I started running out of good grey/black pieces, so, maby I will fix that later. 3) The tower should be hexagonal shaped. The Mumak is too small, so I can not do it right.

So, any hints suggestions, or anything elso would be greatly appreciated.

Cool. Great idea. On my apocalypse diorama, the random colors on the road are debris and such.

this is very nice, I like lotr... I saw a review of yours on a moc of the day, I think you should now that the creators that have had a moc of the day did't chose for it, they can't do anything about it so it is a bit unfair to vote lower because you think it isn't worthy of moc of the day. But I agree with the 4 you gave on that strange yoda. I just want you to know

Great tower. It has a LOT of detail. I love the moss growing on the tower. I feel that those base plates are kinda cheeting. They already have the shape you need, and you do not have to make it yourself. Anyways, go ahead. To each his own. BTW, the monkey DOES cheat!! I owe him $20! ;)

good job! Odd choices for minifigs though. Could still use a little work and cleaning up, but it's definitely a great start!

looks great and has some pretty remarkable build techniques. the problem is the size, though. I often find that what I build is too small and end up having to rebuild stuff. I think this is one of those cases. good coloring, but this definately deserves a bigger version two. (Im not even gonna complain about the figs.)

That has to be the best brick built oliphaunt I have seen to date. Very well done. The spacey figs need to go, but the Nazgūl is certainly appropriate. Lee.

There is a rather drastic scale issue, but this is the best one I've seen out there.

Pretty good! He's just missing one thing. Short legs. I made my own B.S. and he had Rebel Engineer (from the old b-wing) shirt, a black necker (cause I don't have any other colour) and a beige cap, a smiley head and’
