About this creation
COMPLETE--01/22/2008
The Bayonet is the third of my 'Variations on a Theme' MOCs. The theme itself is described in exquisite detail on the Prestige page (the first 'Variations on a Theme' MOC). I thought it would be some sort of awful sacrilege if I didn't make a Blacktron II themed MOC since this whole theme is based off Blacktron II cockpit design. The Blacktron II color scheme fits in perfectly with my theme guideline of only having two colors so I had to do it.
The Bayonet is all about firepower. Those two long masts.. I mean guns.. really pack a wallop.
I tried a really elaborate engine design at first but it was too much and this looks better.
The bottom. Yet another VTOL--they aren't part of the theme I'm just using the same design on every one.
The holes actually serve a purpose on this one! Jetpack equipped Blacktron II units can fit in them for unsafe and uncomfortable travel!
"Bye!" Oh, I'm sort of planning a fourth but might not build it. I'm down to two more domes but one is trans green and the other is trans blue; I'll have to see what I can do.

One of your best VOATs! How did I miss it all this time? The wing's angle is stunning. |

Oh yeah, the yellow windscreens do look good...You can find them on Bricklink using part number 4474.
I hope this helps! |

Thanks for the comments!
I like all your ships, they have a very clean and smooth design. It was tough choosing just one to comment on:) I think you made the right decision about the engine on this one! |

This is great, I loved the blacktron pods as a kid. Also it has the look of a Klingon bird of prey about it. |

Deadly. Puts the BLACK in blacktron II. I should make a b-tron II ship someday. |

Now THIS is an awesome tribute. It must have been a pain to get those masts aligned just right, but they really enhance the lethal look of the ship. The engine is great too, very Blacktron looking without being overdone. Keep up the great designs! |

Oh my god, this is getting better all the time! This one really looks like an actual set! Here's an idea for the last variation: why don't you try one with the wings pointing backwards? |

It looks a bit awkward to me in the main picture, but then i saw the rest. Great work! I tried that cockpit (with my own variations) On one of my MOCs that's kind of a WIP. anyways, love the "variation of a theme" MOCs! |

I like the aggressive feel on this one. Great use of angles and color, and the wings are very well shaped. This is your best variation yet! |
