"Doomgiver? Sounds like a lot of firepower wrapped into a wall of Armor."
About this creation
This is the Doomgiver, my second MOC to present you!
The Doomgiver was built to be the last resort to safe Coruscant, the cradle of the UFSS,
if the Dark Alliance found their way through to the planet.
With an extremly high firepower, some fighters and immense amounts of ammunition,
the Doomgiver was the ultimate weapon to fight an enemy at the most inner lines, which
he never reached... Stats:
Length: 394,5 meters
Width: 222,3 meters
Height: 115,3 meters
Pilots: 38 Armory:
10Inch Heavy MG: 31 Turrets
05Inch Medium MG: 50 Turrets
Heavy Shiplaser: 10 Guns
LR Interstellar Missiles: 4 Tubes
High Density Plasma Torpedos: 7 Tubes
The Doomgiver is the only Doomgiver-Class ship, so to be said an unique spacecraft.
It's design was never ment to be beautiful because the purpose predicted the design.
The Doomgiver was built with extreme attention to armor, firepower, ammunition capacities
and the most easy handling to asure that the crew is both small and welltrained. Yet
there're only about 250 people in the Doomgiver's ready-staff.
Also, the Doomgiver has 7 docking ports placed all across the ship to ensure fast boarding and supply.
This model is a total MOC, from the idea over the building to the rendering. it exists
actually in real life as a model build only with red bricks (making it easier to tell
who's the good guy and who's the bad one when "staging" fights to see if the written ones are believable and so on...).
Basic design was about half the length of the model as it is now, the lower rear part
was added after I got a bunch of red sloped bricks free to use so it took about 1 year from the first to the last brick, but actually the building time was about 2 hours or so.
Funny thing is that this ship uses a lot of SNOT technics, but I built it long before I saw the term "SNOT" for the first time. I figured out a way to build something, and afterwards, I realized that this technic is a still growing world of it's own inside the LegoŽ world.
Between 1 hour and 3 hours per picture
Oblique overview shot of the Doomgiver. A lot of firepower points forward. All 10 Heavy Shiplaser Turrets on the wing-like structure, all 7 HD Plasma Torpedo tubes, all 4 LR interstellar Missile tubes, and some of the Heavy MG turrets. Don't think any ammo's wasted. One shot, one hit. And if you've seen the ammo storages and cooling units, you know why the ship is the definition of endurance!
The rear right side with the main engines clearly visible. you won#t survive fleeing, she's fast - Very fast - believe me... NO chance at all!
Right front fo the ship. The nose section is detachable to serve as a lifeboat or auxiliary craft. Also worth noting is the fore opening of the main hangar, covered with a big plate to safe it from kamikazi attacks. Don't get in the line of fire, the HD-Plasma Torpedo tubes, 3 on each side of the superstructure, on underneath the nose, are designed to tear ships apart when delivering their special gifts.
The afterwards added rear partio of the ship, also serving as coverage for the landing bay to make the approach more difficult. Also 2 big liveboats are here at the very end of the ship in its lower outside corners. You can also see the main upper hangar aswell as the auxiliary fore hangar on the upper superstructure of the ship.
Beginning approach to the landing bay. Where it is you ask? behind this structure you're looking at. The Doomgiver has the most difficult approach to a landing bay ever built. Why? to prevent bombers to damage it in kamikaze-style attacks. Only pilots with a specialized training are allowed to maneuver fighters from and to the Doomgiver
The final approach to the landing bay. Note how deep inside the gate of the landing bay lies. Also, to get a size reference, the inside of a stud (the small holes around the center stud rest) would be 2 meters (6 feet) in diameter.
Head on shot of the Doomgiver. If you're a bad guy and this is what your rearview mirror shows, commit suicide!
well then, unfortunately, like the Atlantia, this ship was lost in the HDD crash I suffered. Also the real version of this ship doesn't exist anymore. Maybe I recreate it after I've finished the recreation of the Atlantia.
Now it's up to you, comment it.
Thanks for your time!
