The RC car industry sports a type of vehicle called a pan-car. Its a flat affair designed for carpet or on-road use. This chassis design adapts some of the better lessons I learned from that other hobby and applies them to my next robot design. While I use the Parallax Stamp for my robot creations (I'm a roboticist who like Legos, not a Legoicist who likes robots!), I hope you mind-storm chaps find this useful as well.

While I'm pretty content with the design of the steering module, I'll be the first to admit the drive module is a bit crude and will probably need some overhaul before the juice hits the treads.

One neat aspect of the design is the simple 4 pin lock together that interfaces the 3 modules. A new design in the Power or Steering areas can easily be clicked into place. And the 90 degree arrangements make for sturdiness that boarders on bulletproof.

If anyone has any comments on how to improve on this, please lend a hand. Cheers! -Tim

Not perfect; it hasn`t a diferential at the rear, and the middle module could brake apart, if the robot is to Heavy. Look at my RC cars.
