Flinders Street Station, the iconic railway station in Melbourne, Australia.

This MOC was created for Brickvention 2008, which was held in January 2008, ironically opposite the railway station!

Its not an accurate model, but the front facade i certainly kept with the theme of it.

I am currently modifying this MOC to be part of the MTLC train layout for 2008 so hopefully a lot more people can share in it :)

The MOC was also very lucky to win the peopels choice award at Brickvention 2008!

The moc is built Like Cafe corner in modules, all connected via technic pins, it also has 2 detailed interior sections, with railway control room, board room, ticketing area, florist, newsagent, cafes etc.

In response to one of the reviews, it took on and off several months to build, as its modular, i did one section at a time. In terms of a peice count: thats a real tough one, but its around 15,000 peices or there abouts.

Id say probably 8k Yellow, 1k Dark Red, 1k Dark Grey, 2k Light grey, 1k Black, (500 trans black 2x2 panels) the rest a mixed bag.

I made a LOT of mistakes in it, but thats half the fun, i had some real stabality issues on the front angled part, which caused a rebuild about 3 times, but now its rock solid :)

What would i do differently? Well i would have built it on 48x48 baseplate modules instead of 2x 32x32 baseplate modules. Getting the dark Red cost me a fortune!!!, so im not sure if i wouldnt have just used red instead.

Im looking forward to modifying it a bit to fit into the trainlayout that gets shown off for the next 12 months, should be fantastic to see trains going through it and stopping to pick up passengers etc.

WOW! - Ryan nice job - incredible! How did you plan for this, how long in man hours, how many peices, mistakes - if any? If given the chance, what would you do differently and why. You must be very proud - congratulations and excellent work!
