It lights up!
About this creation
I would have posted this earlier, but I was waiting to get a tripod for my camera. I still don’t have one, though. Hopefully I will for my next MOC. Anyways, there’s this sub-theme called 3vil, which I didn’t make up. They’re terribly evil, have no allies, speak L337, and like skulls. With this in mind, I made the 3vil death cannon. It is a ground-based planetary defense superlaser designed to destroy any unidentified spaceships that dare venture too close to the planet. I’m not going to assume that 3vil has a homeworld, so this could be based on an previously conquered planet or moon. This is my first 3vil MOC, so if I’m doing anything wrong, let me know. Here's a video of the light-up function, but don’t worry about messing with your speakers, because there’s no sound with it:

Top view. I originally wanted the skull to be part of the cannon, like with it coming out of its mouth or something, but that didn't happen.
The highly-trained engineer who is allowed to operate such a powerful weapon must also be a ranking officer within the 3vil hierarchy.
Two guards protect the big skull, which is the control tower.
Skull interior.
Next to the skeletal chair is a place for the engineer to put his gun.
The skull's eyes are tilted downwards, making it look evil.
When the jaw is shut you can see its significant underbite, which makes it look even more evil. It should probably have more teeth, however.
The turntable. I didn’t spend much time making this area look finished, but I did manage to include the nifty light-up function. Here’s the URL for the movie again:

This is supposed to be a skull.
This part opens when the cannon is firing.
It’s closed when the cannon is not firing to prevent enemies from shooting down the barrel.
Behind everything is a big 6x8 3 that I made. I put a lot of effort into making it, so it had to go somewhere on this MOC.

Wow, what an ultra-massive canon! Great job of sculpturing on the skull, too. I saw you´re from Ann Arbor - cool! I have been there for 7 weeks in February, March and the beginning of April 2007 to visit my girlfriend. She moved to Germany to be with me...:) So I have a special "link" to Ann Arbor and Tecumseh. I love how everything looks in America; I used to go running all over town - the Arb, Huron River Valley, around Argo Pond - it was awesome, especially with all the snow... Oh well, enough now - just had to talk about it:) Best regards, Steffen |

Very good! I LOVE the skull! It is awesome! The eyes are great, and the SNOT jaw is good, too! It reminds me of Voldamort, for some reason... I also love the cannon. They ONLY reason I gave you a 4 on this, is because of that area! It could have been covered in greebs or something. But, besides that, it is wonderful! |

I thought it was awesome to begin with but then I watched the video! The light up function isn't some run of the mill ExoForce light brick, it's a veritable lightning festival! The effect is so cool it's worth that sort of unfinished looking portion. Really cool Nate! |

Yeah, a huge skull with the cannon jutting out of its mouth like a cigar would have been the epitome of awesome... as if this wasn't cool enough already. The skull with its long fangs looks like a snake's to me, especially when the jaw is hanging open. And the skeleton torso used in the backrest for that chair? Perfect. |
