A small patrol ship, used by Rent-a-Space-Cops and
private security firms. A peacetime patrol ship,
not to be used as a front line fighter!

Had this built a while ago, awaiting a few Bricklink parts.
The intention here was to enclose or encirle the cockpit
in some way, rather than having it sticking out in front.
Very un-swooshable due to it's delicate contruction.
Simple: yes. Sturdy: NO! Besides reminding me of a marlin
or swordfish it's got an anime feel to it for some reason.

Panels either side of the 'nose' are sensors.

Landing, the engines swing forward. And other stuff happens too.

I put little dials on either side of the hex windows. I tried to put cups and holders but ran outta room :(

Major piece breakdown.

Why, oh why is every cockpit not like this. Think about it. Every fighter out there, including real world fighters, put the pilot right in the front or top of the ship, making them the "bullseye" of the entire target. When are people going to come to their sesnses and make more ships like this with the pilot well protected. Oh well... I'm gonna go and build a halo pelican now... god no... stop me... please... help! just had to get that out of my system. Love the ship, keep up the good work. Later ~ Chris.

I don't really know what the "Variation" theme is, but it looks suberb! I like the little gauge in the cockpit :)

A while ago I was wondering how to do a Variation in the sleek shapes I usually work in. Now I know. Great job Shannon, these angles are incredible.

I really like this "encased" cockpit, as well as all the angles and curves and colours. I'm not so sure about that thing on the nose, but this is worth 5 smileys.

Your Bricklink patience definitely paid off! The Marlin is truly awesome. I love the way it's shaped around the cockpit. This inspires me to do something truly wild as far as shape goes if I make another! It was great fun seeing this Ocean!

"My cat's breath smells like cat food." Your best spaceship yet, in my opinion. And with all apologies to Uspez, maybe the best variation on the theme so far. I'll have to go look at his Transient again to see which one is now my favorite.
