I usally build castle walls in monotone light gray, but somehow that never quite looks like real stone, even when I use just 1x2s. This is my attempt to 'liven up' walls with some dark gray texture.
very cool idea with combining shades, it does work. Vegetation would give it a nice touch..............Most people want a bigger castle with everything, and i've seen all of your MOCs and i thought it would be cool, unless your saving them, to combing some of the similar ones.............just an idea
Nathan this is a great attempt at a castle wall. You could actually try covering it in vegetation and it would look like a run down ancient wall to a long forgotten kingdom. I would really like to see an actual castle built to compliment this wall. Good Job.
I wish there was a 3.5 option, because it doesn't deserve a 3. Nathan, as you know I really don't like the 'mottling' you did. It makes it too busy and hard to look at. That aside, the construction and design of it is superb. It's just that the random dark grey makes the detail hard to notice, and makes it all sort of blend together and cluttered-looking. Definately would be a 5 if it wasn't for that. All-in-all, great job, Nathan.
