I have always wanted to give brainstorming a try with technic/bionicle peices due to their bizarre shapes. in making these few ships i have thought of some new ways to make actual ships out of regular studded peices. i hope these offer inspiration to fellow builders.
About this creation
The first experimental ship i made, which is some sort of fighter.
The key feature of this ship is its variable wing mode.
A scout or surveor ship, with lots of random instrumentation on board.
The first of three larger ships i made, which is some sort of cruiser or battleship.
I really like how the engine segments and bottom turned out.
Some sort of freighter.
I really like the engines on this one as well!
But the front also has an interesting shape.
Another freighter, but a lighter and faster model.
again, more experimentation with engine segments.
And last, but certainly not least, my VTOL military grade gunship/dropship!
i hope to make this out of bricks for myself in the months to come, minifig scale of course!
Fairly simple overall design.
Again very nice engines.
Features pivoting engine sections, for VTOL.
And independent gun pods!
I hope these are somewhat inspirational, thanks for looking!
There's no reason, in my opinion, to think of TECHNIC as an entirely separate system from regular LEGO bricks, since the two can be combined so easily. In fact, I think these ships are pretty good as they are, and instead of converting them to all-LEGO System, you should just combine some system bricks in there with the technic! But either way, they look nice - some good shapes and ideas here, which would probably be hard to do non-technic.
Mate this is a brilliant idea. The technic ships look cool in themselves but they are very inspirational in suggesting unique structures and shapes. The dropship looks very inticing; it'll be great to see how it translates to system bricks. Well done sir, well done.
