This progect is a rubber band turret on a base controlled by a simple joystick. This mechanism launches rubber bands over 20 ft.
By putting an axle through the main gear, enabling the bands to wrap around the axle and cling to a mesh farther back on the gear, it can hold as many rubber bands as I want it to. If you try to fit too many on, it might collapse. I almost got to twenty shots without reloading.

In my 2nd photo you can see the motor that turns the turret a full 360 degrees.

This joystick is operated by your own energy. The motor in the joystick acts like a sensor, which trigeres the motor in the base, that turns in the same direction, with a distance ratio of 2:1 (input:output). I used that in my joystick and rotation of the turret. Since that requires no NXT (a "brain" brick w/ power), the program simply waits for a touch sensor, then fires the rubber band(s) by moving a motor forward 1/8 of a turn. You hold the joystick like a remote and turn it with both hands.
