The oldest houses in the city-state Morritt were laid out mostly at random. In later centuries, as the population grew, it became necessary to fit more people into the same city area, and using more easily acquired materials. The result was oddly shaped half-timbered houses, like this one. See it in the city context here.
I think these pictures make it look smaller than it actually is. With all those weird angles, it's hard to get a photo that accurately gives an idea of the size.
The angles make it difficult to get a really nice looking roof.
