Valor Class
rather small recon / patrol ship
About this creation
Valor Class

This is the Valor Class, my 6th MOC to present you!

Story

The Valor Class is a standard recon ship / patrol ship used by the Dark Alliance. It's purpose is to go deep into UFSS teritory to check out what's what and to estimate targets of special interest.
The armory of the Valor Class isn't the best of all, mainly designed to defend the ship against fighters and smaller warships, or to attack convoys with minor security.
Stats:
Length: 63,5 meters
Width: 70,8 meters
Height: 20,9 meters
Decks: 5
Crew: 50
Armory:
Ion-Torpedos: 1 Tube
20mm Machine Guns: 10
Pulse-Laser Guns: 4

Official estimations go up to about 500 ships of the Valor Class within the Dark Alliance fleet, inofficial reports speak of far more than 900 ships. Reported contact with Valor Class vessels come to 143 ships.
The ships are equipped with standard shields only, but they have a special shielding againt non-particle-weapons around their weakest point, the ventilation system of the impulse-drive reactor.

The Model

The model is a 100% MOC, it seems to be inspired by the classic battlestar raiders, tho I'm not sure if that's true or not.
I built a real one of these about 4 years ago, so I can't tell for sure if the analogies are coincidental or not.
Only thing I can recall is that it's a rather simple and therefore solid construction because I dropped it a mere 1000 times ore so, and it never fell apart.

Rendering Time:
about 2 1/2 to 4 minutes per picture

a 3/4 shot of the Valor Class

Looking down onto the front of it

I think it's one of the bad guys... why? C'mon, it's black, it has a red engine glow... what do you expect? Santa Clause?

The underside of the ship, revealing it's main weapons. I like the shot, gives the small model a big look ;-)

Now it's up to you, comment it.
Thanks for your time!
