A classic-scale 1960s 4-wide LEGO VW van/microbus to add to my clock tower layout.
About this creation
Here is a heavily Sean-Kenney-influenced Volkswagon microbus. I "stole" his initial design and enhanced it in many ways. First, I added wrap-around front bumpers, a spare tire on the front (instead of "VW" logo) and tiles for the roof. Then I made the front wheel wells out of arches and the rear wheel wells from "standard" LEGO wheel wells, adhering more to the look of the actual vehicle. Finally, I used transparent bricks for the square windows on the van, which are lower overall. I thank Sean for his excellent work on his VW busses, without that, I would not have made mine!
Okay, what is wrong with everyone? why is this only rated an average of 3?? don't people understand that the smaller a model; the MORE difficult it is to make it look like it's inspiration? I say excellent job man! I mean, it's a mini that REALLY looks like a bus. I'm working on a 8-wide VW bus myself, I just may steal your angled front-end color look...
