A small thin medieval layout, I setup in a display case at work.
About this creation
A few weeks ago, I was asked if I would be interested in setting up some lego in one of the display cases at work. They have this really long hallway that has four ~8 ft wide display cases. 80% of the building has to walk this hallway to get to the cafeteria. Typically they have been filled with things related to work.
Well they wanted to get a little more fun into the cases and thought employee hobbies could be neat. One of the people on this team, knew about my lego hobby and mentioned it, they loved the idea.
The display was up for a week (2004-08-24 thru 2004-08-30). I brought it all in last monday night and took it all home this afternoon. It was a sucess, from what I saw and what I heard, people were constantly stopping in the hallway, looking at the details, amazed at what was possible with lego. It is an engineering building, so almost everyone was into lego as a kid and I'm hoping a few broke out the bricks. I guess we will see, I was sure to put in a mention of MichLUG's coming show, less than a month away at a museum in town.
This was the first time, I've ever setup a layout that was all my creations, no one else, a one man show, so to speak. That was sorta neat. Also the case being only deep enough for one baseplate was interesting, a long narrow street scene ended looking better than I would have thought it could.
