This shot is a good, basic, three quarter view of my light saber hilt. In order to get the haft rounded, I used a hexagonal pattern I came up with while fooling around with a few 1x4 cylinders. That real world model also let me know it was indeed life sized. I put a few greebles on to replicate length adjusters and focusing knobs found on some blades.
Here is a basic view of the back. A simple stud was all that I could come up with for the activation button, but there really isnt much else I coulda' used.
I tried to work in a grip onto the hilt, but I don't think it turned out too well.
Here is a better look at the beam emitter. I don't really like how it turned out, but there was a limited selection of not only parts, but positions. I could have done better in a real world environment.
What kind of Jedi wouldn't use a belt loop?
I even put in a space for a charging cable. Look at almost any prop lightsaber. You'll find a socket.
