This is my lego F4U corsair...i am very very happy with the way it came out although i think there could be some improvements, still I like the way it came out. I would also like too thank the moc page builder "The Pmiaki", because his F4U inspired me too build mine.........although I didnt want to copy his design........anyway the biggest feature this plane has.......wait a minute do I even need to say it?........ya I think I do.......it has folding wings!!!.........and let me tell you this, if I hadn’t been able to make the folding wings I would not have even attempted to build this moc.....literally........so please review I really want to know what you think thanks..........ONE LAST THING! i didnt make up the name "Grim Reaper" there was a model of an f4u that i had, that had that name........so i decided to call this one the same thing....also i ment to make the prop have 4 blades.....oh ya thought you might like too know the f4u corsair is one of my favorite planes.........but of corse i like the f-16 and b-17 better....:)

A Brief History of the F4U Corsair

The Chance Vought F4U Corsair was an American fighter aircraft that saw service in World War II and the Korean War (and in isolated local conflicts). Goodyear-built Corsairs were designated FG and Brewster-built aircraft F3A. The Corsair served in some air forces until the 1960s, following the longest production run of any piston-engined fighter in U.S. history (1942–1952). During World War II, it was the fighter the Japanese feared the most. The U.S. Navy counted an 11:1 kill ratio for every F4U shot down.

Very accurate model, David. I have to correct Nick, the F4U-4 version had a four blade propeller with a 2350HP Pratt and Whitney R-2800-8 Engine. So, this Corsair is accurate.

Very nice– a great rendition of my all-time personal favorite aircraft. I like how it's not very studded like so many other LEGO renditions of fighter planes. The one thing I have to nitpick is that the wings seem to dip *too* low as they come off the body, giving the MOC a bit of a goofy, sagging look. It's especially noticeable from the rear view: it almost appears like the wings are melting off the fuselage. Otherwise, very nicely done.

A beautiful model. I like the extra painted details, such as the "Grim Reaper". Looks great next to the Zero (how can too killing machines look so pretty?) Personally, my fave WW2 Yank carrier fighter is the Grumman F6F!

That is beautiful design. Although the propeller has four blades instead of three, I think that the way you did it is fine. The shape is perfect, especially the tail. The decals are very creative and the folding wings are better than some of the folding wings I've seen. Overall, you made a great effort and were rewarded for it.
