The dreadnought USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Q's anti-time future.
About this creation
This is the three nacelled version of the Enterprise D seen in the final episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, called "All Good Things..."
Some unofficial literature calls this modified Galaxy class ship the Entente class dreadnought. While I'm not sure about the "Entente" part of the name, which is French for treaty, the "dreadnought" part is fitting, as can quite easily tear a gaping hole in a Klingon Voodieh class battleship, the most powerful Klingon ship of the time.
The main differences between this and the original Galaxy class is, obviously, the third nacelle and the large phaser cannon mounted underneath the saucer. Also, there are fins on the warp nacelle pylons, a structure of unknown purpose on top of the main shuttlebay in the saucer, and phaser cannons on either side of the bridge. The shuttlebays in the stardrive section have been removed and replaced with a larger impulse engine and there are additional structures on the warp nacelles too.
Some unofficial literature says that the ship is still capable of saucer separation. I'm not sure if it's supposed to, but I have incorporated this in my model. I connected the phaser cannon to the stardrive section instead of the saucer section because it would have to be connected directly to the warp core to be so powerful, and it would probably be too complex to have the power conduits separable as well. In any case, with the third nacelle as well, it gives the stardrive section a real hot rod look when separated.
This ship only exists in an alternate future, and may just be a fantasy of the omnipotent Q. As one person puts it, "I just don't believe that Starfleet would turn a beautiful design like the Galaxy class into such a pompous fanboyish übership." Still, I think it's a cool, if slightly outlandish design.
I don't like kitbashes and I never liked what they did to the big D with this refit. Adding a bunch of bulky industrial parts to such a smooth ships was a horrible idea. However, you capture it quite well.
I LOVE this model! It is definitely the best model of the Entente class (not that I've seen any other) but it is still one of the best Star Trek MOCs I have seen, other than some of your other models!Love the warp Nacelles and Phaser cannon.
