They are out there, fighting for US! We need to recognize then as our protectors...The Soldier.

A flash breaks the dark twilight,
Somewhere a soldier has no more sight,
A crack sounds in the silence,
A mighty man, brought down by violence

One eye looks down the barrel,
He is all in, totally focused, ignoring his peril,
The other eye is squeezed shut,
The gun kicks back, he slips and the stock hits him in the gut,

The sound of him falling resounds,
Bringing up the gun he fires three rounds,
With a trained eye the enemy spots him,
The soldier screams as he loses a limb,

Thus is the story of war,
It goes through history as lore,
We water it down and make it seem like fun,
But it is very, very real…as is a gun,

Let us now recognize the armed forces,
The ones who keep us safe from when they rode horses,
The soldiers who protect our homelands,
Sacrificing their bodies, many quickly meeting their ends.

Why don't they get the honor they deserve? They are out there fighting day after day while we live in our large, cozy homes going through life worrying about stubbed toes and sprained ankles. The soldier is risking his LIFE. So let us give them the honor and the glory that they so richly deserve.

We look at our TVs, we see hungry people and turn the channel. This world is greedy, selfish, and ungrateful.

2 Timothy 3:2 says this:
"Men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, and unholy."

That says it all doesn't it? Let's turn the people around us and honor them, and most of all, our soldiers fighting for us.

Good job reminding people of what's really behind all those fun and games we love. And lets not forget the brave men who keep our country safe while it tries to destroy itself from the inside out. Hooah!

Great poem, great message. Though I'm not a supporter of the war, if it weren't for the brave men and women who risk their lives, the US would probably be Communist. Good job man.

Very good poem and an extremely eliquent touch with the scripture. 4/5 because the vigs not very good [not SNOT, (I know, lack of pieces) landscape not very good, (should be like Iraq *and I know about the lack of pieces issue*) and we can't see everything going on this vig (which means it isn't fully complete)]. Props for the poem though and the bible verse. Perhaps a V.2?
