THIS IS NOT A MOC!!!!! This is a brief look into the life of a sad aging AFOL.
About this creation

I thought I could use these pics as a conduit to let you know a little about myself. I know this is not a MOC and I’m really looking forward to all the “this is not a moc” reviews from the illiterate masses (Young and Ocean, you guys don’t count!)

Why am I using these pics of “non-mocs” for this page. Basically to illustrate where my “lack-o-bricks” comes from. In short, nostalgia. As you can see, I’ve got almost every “Star Wars” set that’s come out since the 90’s (I'm missing a few of the nice ones like the turbo tank, but you get the idea), sitting on a shelving unit in my garage, and I just can’t bring myself to tear them down! I know, I know, I’m an “ubergeek” but I just can’t do it. My mocs are made mostly from old castle, space and pirate sets… hence the reason they suck. Now, a little about me…

Well, where do I start? I’m 32… for the moment. I was born in 1975. I had a very unique upbringing. My parents were ice skaters with “Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice” for about twenty years. I was born while they were with the show and lived my first 5 years or so traveling around not only the States, but other countries as well.

My Father is South African and my mother (God rest her soul) was English which makes me the first American born in my family. When I was about 5 we “kinda” settled down (although we still moved around the county quite a bit. I won’t bore you with the details).

When I was 15, we began touring with professional ice shows and I got my start in show bizz. When I was 16 I joined Walt Disney’s world on Ice. I toured the world (6 continents and over thirty countries) till I was about 22. I got off the road and settled in the Chicago area. I married my wife in 1998. We had a daughter in late 06. I currently am working in Law Enforcement in the Chicago area.

Hobbies, likes and so on: Well, LEGO of course, that’s a given. I'm also heavily into martial arts, holding a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a second degree black belt in Hap Ki Do. Movies: Sci-fi, Fantasy, Buddy cop, Kevin Smith stuff, Broken Lizard, Tarantino, and historical pics.

T.V.: My all time favorite show is Red Dwarf. I also like Smallville, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Supernatural, Heroes and (I’m sorry) WWE. With my work schedule I don’t have a lot of time to actually watch a lot of these shows, but I enjoy them when I can.

That’s pretty much it, in a nut shell. My life has been pretty normal since the late 90’s (after Disney). Thanks for joining me for this little trip down memory lane and reminding me just how mundane my life has become. I guess it’s pretty sad when the best thing I have to look forward to is getting MOCTAGGED!

Thanks everyone and keep building. Later ~ Chris.
P.S. not that it really matters, but if you look behind the Tie Fighter on the main pic, you can see the Tie Interceptors wings. Just in case someone goes... "Where's the Interceptor?"

It has come to my attention (from ONE person who's oppinion I actually care about. Not the spammers who don't have the guts to leave a "callback" on their reviews. Cowards.) That some might feel that this is an exersize in egotism. This is not the case. I just wanted to share who I am and where I come from.

A special note to the spammers. Grow a pair!

Lego Lord's review got sent but he sent it to me so here you go...

O I know how you feel,I have a Starwars collection about the size of yours, and I can't bear to tare it down, but I had to scrap my B-wing"for the greater good".This is cool,I would make a pages like this, but my life really is not that interesting...But I can't believe it,law enforcement, ice skating and legos. That has to be the strangest combination I've ever heard.Oh well, you take what you can get.Oh yeah,do I count:THIS IS NOT A MOC PHIPSON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway,I thought you might like to have it.Later~LL

PS:I think Ocean has caught on to the~sydrome, check out you Ocean wins Moc :-)

Quoting Samuel Loh I have a challenge for you. Could you please build a Lego movie themed build? Seeing as America is the capital of lego movie stuff. Good Luck!
A great idea to be sure, however... I'm working hard on my build for BrickWorld this year. I also have something "brickworld related but not Lego" that is taking up much of my time. Thanks for the idea though, perhaps if I get stuck for ideas in the future... Anyway, thanks and keep on building! ~ Chris.

Quoting Tuskano Raidaro Red Dwarf is a great TV series... I remember watching that with my parents. And yes, I do have to say you have a nice collection. Even though this is too late in responding to this as a regular comment, I am sorry to hear some of the builds in the pictures have not lasted. Though it is always a fun feeling to find the instructions of an old set somewhere and decide to try to rebuild it. I have to also agree with a lot of what you stated, knowing that in the past I have received some comments usually along the lines of "cool set, check out my stuff", with no real feedback at all. Some people I have found do not leave constructive comments, and use them more to see if they can get more people to look at their own. Anyways, this reply is also to answer your reply from my request to join a group. I am 24, and have pretty much lived my whole life with Legos. I even got my younger brothers to grow up with them and actually treat them with respect instead of trying to eat them heh. Thanks again for responding back. Keep up with your moderating! And brick on :)

Great collection, too bad you dismantled a huge portion of it. I know I am late to commenting, but I never found MOCpages until January of 2010 or something like that. Anyway, I got here because I was exploring Heath's page and found my way to his Courthouse where you guys were talking about how he had improved and you haven't so I decided to see how much you had improved. I'm not going to voice my opinion on that, but the fact I found that you were a major Star Wars fan made me a little giddy. I don't know why, but that is off topic again. I like that you put a little Biography about yourself than what I did when I showed my Star Wars Collection. I can't stop myself from getting more, and I can't bring myself to destroy some of the sets. I've been collecting since they first came out which means I have spent 14 years building my collection. (Holy Bajolies! Has it really been that long?!) I feel like I am just like you from your "back in the day's" where I am building stuff from donated bricks of Castle, Space, and Pirates sets so my MOC's tend to use pieces that don't have anything to do with the theme I like and I have tons of pieces that I will probably never use because of it. Oh man, I feel like your collection isn't complete enough, or at least it wasn't, I don't really know, the pictures are tiny, I never clicked for a larger picture, and I was actually reading what you wrote. I'm glad I read the comments so I knew not to say, "I'm just like you! I can't destroy my collection either!" But just reading the comments, at least you weren't asked to sell a Cloud City, UCS Star Destroyer, Podracers or whatever. Anyway, this comment is long enough and I feel like it is missing stuff I wanted to say but tangents are just too much fun.

I know how you feel. I'm 13 and I've been out of star wars for about 2 years now, but I couldn't stand to get rid of my huge Star Wars collection. Instead I packed them, fairly poorly, in several boxes 'till I decide to do something else with them someday.

I have no idea why any of you would think that I would do something like that? Mario Kart Master messed up sure, but I told him what he did, he apologized, end of story. There's no "banning" or anything like that going on. Never was, never will be, not for something like that. It's his decision if he wants to stay or leave, not mine. Hey Chris? I have a request. Since I can't do it on my own, and you might have enough LEGO, I want you to build a statue. LIFE-SIZE. She is 5' 8", and it is Krystal from Starfox. Do her Adventures outfit because it'll look better. ANY Starfox pics from Adventures of her will do fine. Also, she has a staff that is about 6'. The staff is gold with blue gems on both ends and a wide head. Look up the pics to get a feel of it. Oh, you might support rods. ~M.K.M.

I truly feel your pain. Been thinking of posting a similar page for my similar collection of non-MOC's. So the real question here is, why is it that we can't bring ourselves to have unfettered access to our gloriously diverse assortment of unique and awesome pieces in our respective collections? I've got about 30 SW sets, some of the UCS sets, so there's a LOT of bricks tied up on my shelves too. Is it that you as well view them as a little bit of an insurance policy should lay-offs come at work? Did you too lie to your wife about how they would all be the kids' someday soon, so there's some pressure to keep them in their original condition (minus a bit of shelf dust)? Or is it that you think they'll be worth a ton of money someday, but only if they're still all 100% intact. There is help for people like us. I'm not sure where, but there just must be...

Excepting a half dozen B-Wings parted out - most of my bigger SW sets haven't even been taken out of the boxes yet - now there is geekdom. As for sharing so much potentially identifiable info within MOCpages proper - it might inspire some KFOL or TFOL to do the same, which would not be so good. Now of course the real question is - did you quit skating because of some nasty latex allergy? Lee.

dude...this is an impressive collection, the only reason you lost one smiley face is because i'm a bit O.C.D. and i can see that at least five of your super-battle-droids have an arm that is flipped, causing it to curve out and away instead of curving to match the body of the droid... ok...thats it... i'm done...

*Justice Guy May 2, 2008 THIS IS NOT A MOC Do you undestand the meaning of ''MOC-Pages''???* Yes he does, but do you understand the meaning of spelling? Yes people, look closely, and you will see many spelling and grammer mistakes. Open your mind... Anyways, about the Moc. Show off. 'Nuff said - Callum

Wow, I wish I had half that many lego sets. I also have tendancy not to dismantle Star Wars sets, though I occasionally 'borrow' an unusual piece from one. :) If I get doubles of something I only ever build one though.

Hey! Ok, this is not a MOC to all of you who voted this low, but it's kinda special. Well done! You work for the Law Enforcement? Does that mean you're a cop? Do you have a Ford Crown Vic (at work)? I'm asking these questions because I would like to be a cop when I'm older :)

All those beautiful sets...all those great pieces. What to do, what to do? It's tough line to walk when your drug of choice looks that *#@! fine sittin' on the shelf...I feel your pain. By the way, two things: 1) ask me about my performing background someday and 2)This is not a MOC!!!! (you didn't say "Kelso doesn't count!")

I was one of the lucky builders who got a lot of those old sets... But as a child, I lacked the patience to keep my sets together.. I had all three slave 1 sets- even two of the first one made! Yet now I have one left... And now I lack the money to get the new sets... Consider yourself really lucky.

Wow Chris...so that's who you are! =) That is a lot of Star Wars sets. Oh, and I found out that the Star Destroyer can be made into "custom" Star Destroyers. (See my page) So anyway, you have tons of stuff, and now we know who you are!
