About this creation
When things get ugly spaceside, Star Justice can always call on the trusty Space Corvette. With lateral and ventral SCRAM cannon turrets, and three quad frap ray turrets, the Corvette is well equipped to deal with those pesky skull fighters.
I built this ship for the Classic Space Forum, Star Justice vs Space Skulls LDD contest. Normally I wouldn't build an LDD moc, I consider them cop outs. But since it's for a contest....

I felt that Star Justice was lacking any large space vehicles, so I designed the Corvette to fill the role. I pretty much based it around the bridge window piece. As soon as I saw that piece I thought "ship bridge". I then proceeded to use as many slope and snot pieces as I wanted, pieces I don't have in real life. I can see why people get addicted to digital mocs...

One of the things I found difficult was structural soundness. You can't pick a model up and see how strong it is in LDD. I think I might have added too many extra structure bits to counteract this, thus making it cost more. If you wanted to buy it the price would be 127$.

Roofless shot showing the interior. You can also see the engines, the ladder that goes to the bridge, and the exit hatch. I think my only complaint with my work is that I just couldn't figure out a way for the crew to land and exit the ship without removing the lower tail fin. It either has to land on the water A'la Star Blazers, or land backwards like a rocket. The hatch is on the back of the bridge and it does open. Unfortunately the darn hinge tool wanted to rotate the whole ship instead of the hatch, so there's no pics of it opened.

Interior details. The engine room is fairly sparse, three reactor/fuel tank things and some controls, attended by a crew member. No toilets or beds, they didn't really fit. I guess the crew doesn't expect to spend too long in space at one go. The forward section has a gunnery control room with a gunner, and an armory with four hand weapons. The Bridge has lots of controls, seats for the captain and helmsman, a ladder leading up from the lower deck, and the exit hatch.

I couldn't resist doing a photoshop shot of the guns firing. The turret design is a fairly simple, but effective one that I have used in real life. I don't know why I imagine the SCRAM cannons being purple, but I do. The ship design is inspired by Star Blazers and retro style rocket ships.
All those skull fighters people have been building better watch out, the Star Justice Space Corvette is armed and ready!
