Built at 1:64th scale and based on a sweet diecast Apache I found for 7 bucks at Tuesday Morning (see final pic). I bought it for inspiration/reference and then thought - why not just build it. Some of the details are a bit off, but I think it captures the look pretty well considering the scale.

And for those who don't care for the look of the Longbow radar (the dome like thing on top of the rotor), I felt the same way the first time I saw it, but it grows on you to the point that now, any Apache without it look wrong to me. The fact that it increases targeting efficiency by 400% over the AH-64A doesn't hurt either... ;-)

It's kind of nice to have a same scale model to work from.

Dang man, that is a beaut. The rotor design is inspiring. The rear rotor appears a little out of scale, but that is one of the limitations of the media. Lee.

This is so incredibly accurate....it really is amazing... good work! I can tell you have spent large amounts of time studying the orginal and trying to catch every angle and piece of detail exactly right! the only part that seems to look off is the four studs on the tail that are showing you could try covering them with a 4x1 tile...but thats just what I think.. GREAT WORK!
