Built at 1:64th scale and based on a sweet diecast Apache I found for 7 bucks at Tuesday Morning (see final pic). I bought it for inspiration/reference and then thought - why not just build it. Some of the details are a bit off, but I think it captures the look pretty well considering the scale.
And for those who don't care for the look of the Longbow radar (the dome like thing on top of the rotor), I felt the same way the first time I saw it, but it grows on you to the point that now, any Apache without it look wrong to me. The fact that it increases targeting efficiency by 400% over the AH-64A doesn't hurt either... ;-)
It's kind of nice to have a same scale model to work from.
Great Apache, it's my favorite attack helicopter.
Very nice work one the rotors, and i thought that the engines and the cockpit were the best. The only thing I can say is that I might like to see a little more detail with the machine gun, but very nice work indeed.
I'd really appreciate it if you came over and looked at my newest mech. Despite being based off of Soren Robert's model, I got a decent amount of inspiration from your creations and I'd like to see what you think about it. Thanks. Keep on building ~ Nowhereman
ey wy dont yuh join my group eyy "the spanish trampoline" if i havent already invited you owh and by the way that looks like its gunna go blow the crap outa some poor arabs over in iraque lol. ITS AWSOME!
This is so incredibly accurate....it really is amazing... good work! I can tell you have spent large amounts of time studying the orginal and trying to catch every angle and piece of detail exactly right! the only part that seems to look off is the four studs on the tail that are showing you could try covering them with a 4x1 tile...but thats just what I think.. GREAT WORK!
