I envision ground battles on formerly peaceful worlds where JE Hong hovertanks thunder through cities, blasting away at military and civilian targets. Space and air forces are occupied with airborne threats, and cannot deal with this new danger.

Who better to counter the awesome threat posed by advancing Jade Empire forces than the elite PCS troops, the Star Rangers?

PCS techs went to work and came up with a new war assault craft design. This is the PCS-MOFN (Mobile Offense Fight and Neutralize.)

We've seen only one PCS hovertank design before, as far as I know, and that's the one (and the later revised model) by Soren Roberts, People Person. It's a design that looks like a modifed version of something we might see on a modern battlefield.

My take on the idea was more of a retro-future design, borrowing heavily from Chris Giddens' Fazoom-o-craft and Troop lander and base.

The evolution of a moc is always different, and this moc was no exception. The early model was an asymetrical design that was less tank than it was a cockpit with a sidecar turret. That design evolved a little bit but I finally decided that wasn't the vein I wanted to go down for this model. At one point I had a potentially cool, but not very tank-like creation, which wall all scrapped except for the turret, which I'm trying to figure out what to do with it.

The last round of work saw a retro winged design, (which was nifty but incredible weak due to excessive snot,) and then a more conservative design which was a bit too car-like. I finally got the details right and the finished product is what you see on this page.

Many thanks to Chris Giddens, Mark Sandlin, Soren Roberts, and a few other folks who gave suggestions and criticism from start to finish on this moc. :)

Very good! It is nice and flat, yet chunky and sleek at the same time...great job! I'm gonna probably bid on the one you put up on ebay...

Nice, a star rangers tank. I like the wing design and the rest of the hovertank. However I was expecting something that could beat the one from JE...
