This is my first attempt at creating the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. I started on this project about 8 motnhs ago but kind of shelved the project after I realized how much it was going to cost. I ended up deciding to build it piecemeal over time. By the time I got around to finishing the mid-section, the final piece, I was really anxious to see the finished product. I snapped the head, neck, hangars, and engines on and was pleased with the outcome. I dont remember for sure but I think its roughly 147 studs long. Its made up of about 2000 pieces - mostly tons of light-gray plates. I used a lot of grills to give it the unfinished, ribbed effect of the series. Im already thinking about my next version and hope to make it more rounded and truer to the series.

Nice, really nice! Is it over 3 foot long? If so, I'd like to invite you to join mt new group, 'Only BIG spaceships'. Drop me a line if you want to. http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/2070
Hey thanks for the comment. I dont think it was quite 3 ft long...and I say "was" because I really needed those pieces for so many other things. I do have it in my plans though to build her bigger and better at some point. Ill make sure to make the 3 ft minimum when I do. |

I feel your juiced-ness. I just built and posted a Colonial Raptor, having rushed through the build in only a week. Now that I've mustered up the courage to disassemble my massive collection of SW Legos, i have TONS of bricks at my disposal and there are so many BSG ships to build. For my Raptor, I used parts from the Sandcrawler, MTT, and Boba Fett's Slave 1. I may even do a BattleStar (eiher Galactica or Pegasus), but I think mine would have to be a LOT smaller than yours is. My Imperial Star Destroyer's days are numbered...
Again, great job. |

Very nice overall look, especially the front side, center, and back sections! I'm really feeling inspired here.
Question (that requires a response please): Is the color "light bluish gray"?

Very cool! I'm considering trying one myself once I tear down the SHIP I've got that's eating up all of my parts (maybe start it in the fall). The ribbed design on the movie version is a real nightmare for building with Lego, but you've come up with a pretty convincing solution. Overall proportions are nice, too. I'll look forward to seeing what changes you make. Great job! |

Very good! That antenna on the front is the only problem, as over the entire series so far I have never seen once any sign of antennae on the ship. |
