About this creation
LIU Forest Eater

Do you need to clear a forest to make farmland? Are tree roots destroying your underground infrastructure? Do you hate raking leaves? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should invest in the Ludgonian Industrial Union's newest product, the Forest Eater.

This large mech was designed to do one thing, destroy forests.

Sure, trees can be useful (they do produce oxygen after all), but sometimes they just get in the way. Use the Forest Eater's large blade, flame throwers, and trunk bucket to take them off your hands.

The Forest Eater gets around on its two steady legs (actually, the ball joint pieces that make up each leg can't stand up to the mech's weight unless attached to a studded surface. It shouldn't be too hard to find studded surfaces in the lego universe, but we though you should know. By the way, that's why the mech is photographed on a baseplate.)

Ok, so its not too steady, but it certainly is yellow. You can't dispute that.

Here's the beast's blade. The two grates on top stop debris from hitting vital parts of the blade's mechanics. The two nozzles squirt lubricants onto the blade keeping it cool.

A close up of the side and unstable leg.

Here's the Forest Eater's other weapons, the flame throwers and the stump bucket. The stump bucket is used to remove, yep you guessed it, stumps. Its like a bulldozer. Inside the top of the bucket are four flame throwers. Burn out the undergrowth as you move through the forest.

The underside of the front of the mech. We tried to retain some curves here.

The interior of the cockpit.

If you're a tree, and you see this view, say your goodbyes.

Note: Please purchase several of these before you read this disclaimer........

The Forest Eater does not actually eat trees. Yeah, the name is deceiving. It actually just cuts them down and tears up their trunks. This leaves an incredible mess and you will need several other pieces of equipment to actually remove the downed trees. May we recommend our Lumberjack Dropship?

Absolutely astounding! But where did you get the saw blade? Why doesn't the machine tip over? And how does a bucket uproot stumps? Humans have always marveled at the strength of stumps . . . and I bet minifigs do too.

Yeah, an Infantry Eater would be cool! I don't know why, but this vaguely reminds me of Bulborbs from the Pikmin games.

Nice build man, er, your Highness. There's some thoughtful details there. I also see potential in a military "Infantry Eater" variant...

Yellow and curvy, quite the opposite of white and boxy.

Yellow and curvy, what more could one ask for? Wait, those are the opposites of the LIU... Nice build, but I don't think we'll need any of those. You'd be surprised how often bombers are effective in getting rid of forests. Good day

Letter from the Rodent Liberation Front: Dear Emperor, Our repeated to contact you in regards to your "Death Machines" has so far gone unnoticed. It is for this reason that we are preparing to invade Ludgonia. We will not be silenced. Our fallen bretheren will be avenged! Sincerely, The RLF. (Brilliant work as always your Highness. Keep 'em coming.) Later ~ Chris.

I think this is great. The only thing I would change is the transition between the head the rest of the body -- maybe more greebles or something to beef up that area. Otherwise I love everything about this MOC.

Gasp! Its not white! But I think Its looks better in yellow instead. This is a nice design, looks a little heavy in the front. I like the overall smoothness of the mech. Nice work!

So did you build this in response to my little comment on my last post (regarding the LIU logging contract), or was it pure providence? Perhaps great minds do think alike! Nicely done. I'll take one and give it to the neighbors...maybe they'll finally mow their lawn!
