JUMBLER - Timber Scout
What's a poor mech to do when all he was created for is clear-cutting the forest floor? Well, rip trees out, roots and all. Or if that doesn't work, he can always re-nitrogenize them with the flame thrower. Some one look up the word mulch please. More to follow.

Design Notes

Rub your eyes. Blink a few times. Shake your head. Hmmmmm... yup, its still not orange and grey. So you might be asking yourself, "what happened to the primary design philosophy of agencyORANGE!?"

Well, the agency took a cat-nap on this one. Though, it technically falls under the "...make it some other reasonable colors but it better be cool" part of the philosophy, orange and grey wasn't an option for this one. Actually this mech came about as a challenge from the Lego Shop, Sales and Deals section. The Creator, Wild Hunters set looked like it had a plethora of good bits for mech building, plus it was half off!

Fair enough! Now, what to do with a predominantly tan and brown color palette? Well, a desert camo scheme popped up. But then as the other green pieces began being used, so did a jungle/forest idea. Once the the gripper claw was finished, it was clear that this thing needed to be violating trees somewhere!

The core design actually focused around the bulky torso section. Yet another non-traditional cockpit canopy. The legs presented a problem though. The top half of the mech got pretty heavy. Long slender legs didn't fit the bill for this bad actor. The feet shaped up pretty nicely and shorter stalky legs began to balance the whole thing out.

The ripper arm was a great utilitarian tool. But it was lonely. What if that 1000 year old redwood didn't want to be plucked? Well how about we through in a flame thrower that looks like the four horsemen of the apocalypse for no extra charge? Yeah, that'll do it. Rip it our or burn it down! Maybe it should be called Dennis, hmm. We'll convene on that later.

So this perfect view of mech building superiority wasn't always as it looks. After its completion, the mech's head area looked plain (similar to the current design, but had no additional functionality). That wasn't going to cut it! So... lets ad a cannon for a head. Well, lets make it a gunner turret with a cannon. Wait a second, a dood couldn't just be perched up there full-time! He would get shot or crushed by felled timber! Hmm, he'd need an elevator system to retract down into the cavity of the robot. Fortuantely, the bulky torso allowed for the original cockpit design and an area for the gunner/elevator. Next, it needed a door mechanism that didn't expose too much of the interior to attack. Solved!

So you see kids, perfect can become even more perfecter! With a little bit of pixy dust and... Ah come on! Who are we kidding. agencyORANGE has skills!
