I luve how u built the PBY! This plane reminds me one of the Anime TV series, "Montana Jones" where an aeroplane is based on this type!

the pby was a recon ship in the pacific too. With being a flying boat, lone destroyers could tow them, and battlegroups could to because of its flexibility.Nice job!!!!!

Well, I guess it depends on which real one you mean :P I suppose mine is just a generic Catalina. As for tips - If I got time to build this again and had enough pieces to do it I would build the wings using SNOT because it would look really sleak. Also, if you want to make a really accurate model, you'll need to find something heavy to stick in the nose or it will never balance! Hope this helps, and I look forward to seeing your Catalina when it's done :)

Quoting Lawrence _ Amazing! Beautiful design! Does it have an interior? >>> Afraid not - the inside is stuffed full of plasticine to keep the plane balanced!

You mean for building aeroplanes? Well lots of plate bricks seem to come in handy for the wings, although it is possible to make really sleak looking aircraft using SNOT - so you would probably need lots of narrow bricks like 1x6, 1x8 etc. And to give the plane a better shape it is good to have slope bricks too.

Do you mean the grey bricks? I have just accumulated a lot of them over the years... But if you want a website that sells any bricks that you want then I would recommend www.bricklink.com. Hope this helps :)

Beautiful! My grandfather flew these, really great planes. Nearly perfect save for a few details.the most noticable to me was that its missing the second windscreen on the front but that would likely make the model too tall. Great work though! Peace - Patrick

Hey Alex, always nice to see another lego modeller from Belfast. Nice work with the Catalina. Undoubtly the Catalina is an awkward aircraft to model due to all the curves etc etc how I think you have done a good job!

Hi Alex this is really great...I have too disagree with the reviewers below me when I say I think the tail blisters are actually fine I also think the way you did the landing gear is great overall this is an awesome moc.....keep building planes------David

Nice! I don't think I've ever seen a catalina out of lego bricks before, probably because it's hard to get the nice hull shape. I agree with Victor that the side blisters are a little large, but the technique used to attach them is rather brilliant.

the propellers looks like they are a bit to close to the center but I wouldn't know how it really was, anyway, I like it
