About this creation

Prologue: Rory and his family were safe, thanks to the all powerful “80’s soap opera dream sequence” loop hole…

1. However in the real world, thousands of miles away, Rory’s illegitimate son “Clucky” who was abandoned as an egg had sworn vengeance on the father he never knew.

2: Spending years honing his skills, he had become the world’s top poultry assassin and hired out his services to the highest bidder, plucking his targets without fear or emotion.

3: His next target would not be for money, power or prestige, this was personal for his hatred kept him focused and Clucky would have his revenge.

4: Although we have learned that we cannot change the past, the future is not yet set so crossing through the space/time continuum, help has arrived to aid Rory in his greatest battle yet to come…

The Chickenator.
Behind the scenes - Not to be confused with Fourth Wall Commentary, which comes a little later (Just like every chick I’ve ever… never mind)

I was inspired by Kelso’s title page and tried to go with a new take on it. It was supposed to look like the #6 and then when the camera pans down, you see that it’s actually Rory’s seaside mansion in microscale. (Ohhh, I get it now…)

Another shot of the mansion. This thing looks a lot cooler in person (no really, it does).

I built three of the scenes as one moc. Here you can see the farm yard where Clucky’s egg was abandoned, the alley where the Chickenator arrives from the future and the backside of the dojo.

Here is the full shot of the forced perspective moc. The one thing I really hated about this is that I built this whole thing and in the shot I used, you can only see a small part of it. The pics of this dio are the reason I decided to do a behind the scenes section in the first place. I wasted a lot of time building a nice little hilly area (on the right of this pic) and other details that are not even in the final shot. The little dots are supposed to be people (I guess they're all wearing different color hats or something). When shot from above, it looks like Clucky is on a really high building looking down. But we can see from this shot that the building is actually not that tall at all… moving on.

I just thought it would be funny that Clucky had a statue of Rory built in his dojo to help focus his rage. Nothing like a little OCD to drive ones lust for revenge.

Here’s another shot of the dojo and another view of the dumpster. The idea for the dumpster is from Terminator (for the 4 of you who haven’t seen that movie yet) and how when someone comes from the future, the sphere burns everything it touches, leaving a glowing ember after it dissipates. Of course AFTER I did the pics, I realized that I made the sphere 3 dimensional going back towards the wall but the hamster wheel powering my brain squeaked to a halt when it came to the front. (Dumb@$$!) But enough of my behind the scenes babble. It’s time to move on to…
Fourth wall commentary – First, following in the footsteps of masters is no easy task. Let’s face it, it’s down right terrifying. Since Mr. Kelso was nice enough to leave me basically a clean slate to work with, I started thinking about a new direction in which to take our intrepid hero. I needed something different. First, I thought about giving Rory an evil twin, but that was a little too cliché. Next logical step… Illegitimate mutant off-spring assassin, abandoned at birth and hell bent on revenge! OK fine, but Rory was going to need help, and thus, the Chickenator was hatched! (Pun intended). I wrote the story, and then edited it about 50 times before it fell just in the suburbs of the “four line” rule (not an easy thing to do, you know how long winded I am) and completely reinvented the term “run on sentence”. And, as I’m sure my fellow players before me had to do, it took every ounce of will power not to refer to Rory the Rooster as that “other word” for rooster… but anyway. Oh, and before you ask, yes I talked to Shannon about the “captions” and got a “well, I guess...” type of response. It wasn’t a “NO” so I ran with it. The story does stand on it’s own without them so I think we’re good (I hope). Then I got to work building. The build itself followed my normal style… you know, crap. I tried my hand at not only my normal diorama builds but also some Microscale and a forced prospective shot. And the result is what you, the viewing audience, have just been subjected to. Told ya you should have just waited for MOCtag #7.
Speaking of which… The Links:
MOCtag #1 By the originator, organizer and Dreamfruit extract chemist. Shannon Young
MOCtag #2 From Smack-Fu Master and paste-ry chef Keith Goldman
MOCtag #3 Brought to you by Sir Nadroj and his evil army of moc building clones. (Addition - About an hour after I posted this installment I saw Kelso's moc regarding Nadroj and his clones... His is funnier.)
MOCtag #4 Completely unsanitized by our own Dr. Lee Jones
MOCtag #5 The “soon to be single if he keeps this up”, part time Ferret groomer Mark Kelso
MOCtag #6 How do you keep a HALO-kiddie busy?
And, MOCtag #7 goes to… The Thunder from Down under, the Wanna be Wombat, The Killer Koala, it’s… (drum roll please) Shannon Ocean!
How much of those past adventures WERE a dream? What happens to Rory now? Will we soon be seeing a knock down, drag out brawl to end it all between Rory's forces and his illegitimate son? Couldn't tell ya, it's out of my hands now! All yours Shano’! Tag, you're it!

The most "sci-fi" MOCtag I think, so I love it obviously ! I thought I've already reviewed it but nevermind... Hard to pick the best part, because everything is good anf funny here. However my favorite part could be the statue and the first dio. Excellent work !!!

Nice. Love the huge Rory. Great 6. Love the dojo, and Clucky sniping the people. I can not wait, Shano! It better be good. Once again, not where I would have taken it. But, what ever, just leaves him to figure it out. Oh, and I still am in the market to be tagged for anybody who cares... |

A brilliant addition to the story - very impressive. Actually, I think as far as the work goes on this baby, that it is your best stuff to date. I take back all the other fivers I have given you and make this level of quality the threshold for a five-smiley ranking; all the rest of your creations are now ranked 4.99s. Lee. |

Very funny, and Ocean's gonna either pick Kescenovitz, LegoLord365, or Apple Pie. -=LL=-being the favorite. And I"m Alpha 15, just changed my name. Learned some sweet alt coding, couldn't resist! If you wanna learn how, write a reviwe on one of my MOCs asking how. This is not just to Phipson, but to everyone. |

Fan-freakin-tastic. I think my favorite so far. Even if you stretch the rules with that prologue. I mean, I expect that from Kelso, free-spirited artistic type, but you as a cop should be rigidly and humorlessly adhering to the strictest letter of the law! But I digress. The 6 citadel -- awesome. Poultry assassin subplot -- lovin' it. Walk tall, my man, you might just make sergeant for this. |

Not my favorite addition, but it's still well done. The only thing I didn't get was what happened to Rory. How much was a dream? Please really answer these questions, either by contacting me or in the moc itself. |

Dude... creepy metal chicken... oi. I must of followed that link ten times before I realized... (just kidding, I'm not a halo kiddie) Nicely done sir, Obvious but good choice in the next builder. Ol' Tasmanian devil needs a large scale build to brighten his day since he isn't going to brickworld. (which neither am I, for that matter, so you better post pictures)EDIT: I just noticed that the main pic makes a 6... nicely done. |
